The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference approximately a furlong out. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that the winner, EXTRASOLAR, ridden by Chris Catlin, had hung left, interfering with ESCALATING, placed fourth, ridden by Stevie Donohoe, who in turn interfered with SILVERRICA (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Cathy Gannon, who had to ease for several strides. They found the interference was accidental as EXTRASOLAR had hung left despite Catlin taking all reasonable steps to keep the gelding straight.
