Best Endeavour, 7.20 Kempton, 1pt EW
Son of Medicean who may well be better on synthetics than he is on turf. 3 AW starts have seen him make a convincing winning nursery debut at Kempton, then an eye-catching run at Wolverhampton when attempting to follow up, where he didn't obtain a clear run after being forced to race 3 wide, before going on at the finish to be beaten 2l.
His 3rd run on the AW came on his reappearance over 7f at Lingfield, where again he shaped better than the bare result, trying to close in the straight but finding his passage blocked.
Run style and pedigree suggest 1m shouldn't be a problem, and of interest back on the AW, with cheekpieces tried and in the hope he gets the breaks from the inside stall.
Currently trading at 40 and generally a 16-1 poke
Emperor Bob, 1pt EW, 8.30 Naas
An unfancied 25-1 poke when winning snugly on his debut over 7f at Dundalk towards the end of last year; he caught the eye on his reappearance when dropped in trip to 6f at Fairyhouse, despite finishing only 6th of 7, with the trip looking inadequate but going on nicely at the finish.
The market suggested a deal more was expected on his latest start when stepped up in trip to 1m at Leopardstown, but after finding a little trouble up the rail, he could only muster the one pace.
Bit to prove after that, and very much the trainer's second string here on the betting, but looks worth at least one more chance.
