Been to pontefract a couple of times this year but yesterday really showed the difference between weekend and midweek.beverley Saturday was busiest I've ever seen but yesterday business in tats was pitiful and only about 16 books.i like ponty ( good viewing and a screen) but unless there's good weather and plenty of runners people aren't going.i still think a Yorkshire initiative of a tenner or even a fiver midweek is worth.

Can't think why anyone with a 10+ pick no. would even entertain turning up midweek.

Unfortunately as stated many times on many different topics it is no longer viable for bookmakers to attend certain meetings. Until a few years ago I personally never missed a days racing between March and October and it was certainly unthinkable to miss a Saturday on which I probably only had about five weekends off a year. With out having to state the obvious reasons (again) for the demise of racecourse bookmaking times move on for everybody and certainly not always for the best

Some people who go racing ,pay the bookmaking badge, then offer prices to the public, have asked RDT for software to be installed that greens up all turnover. Shows you what the game has become, ****s, imposters.

I love it when the site goes down.Get the jolly in,stand it for a few hundred then get to work.Surprising how little opposition there is then for laying them.

but glad to see the £2 off bets with certain on-course books in the Doncaster Racecard today means that that there are still some new ideas to drum up business on course... I think most will agree that courses are doing all they can to get people through the gate and Jockey Club Racecourses announced some impressive attendance figures today

glad to hear it adge get an advert put in the local paper too... one must assume that none of the participants on the list are commission agents it would give most sleepness nights giving away £2 off good luck to all those in the sample
