Why are RUK telling us that .... "this a a Dave NEVISON MAXIMUM bet"...
When only a couple of weeks ago Nevison, himself, announced, in a debate, on RUK that he - "Does NOT STUDY Form" - and, "I would struggle to NAME more than half-a-dozen horses that are running on any day." Something of a charlatan, then - being both accommodated and encouraged by an equally culpable RUK. ![]()

re Ratings
Anyone who has done them for a decent period, would tell you that the long distance races are hardest to rate. In my experience, even if you have your standard time precise, you'll rarely be able to set a going allowance comparable to those for the rest of the meeting to give sensible ratings. As for the ratings for that race, I use ratings from the last 12 months, on comparable going, within a set variation from today's weight. Eye of the Storm would have one qualifying race, 28/09/14, where he ran poorly. For his 19/10/13 and 29/09/13, I'd rated him 81 and 79, but I only use ratings from the last 12 months. Fot Havana Beat, I had only one qualifying race, 05/07/14, where only 4 ran and I assume that a slow pace ensued as the time was poor. Aside from those two, my top rated was beaten a head and I had the 3rd placed horse only a length behind.

^ How can you possibly apply speed ratings to a distance race, particularly with no recognised front runner in the field?
| ||||||||||||||
|
By:
Sod all that, stow , just stick with Birchy.
| ||||||||||||||
|
By:
I didn't. In theory, the fastest horse should still come out on top.
I only posted the ratings as Nevo's nap came out bottom. I don't really like races beyond a mile for ratings use, but rate every race.

You were wrong to post, "Ratings"
Those are 'Speed Figures' - stow ... An actual world away from accepted (FORM) RATINGS.
