not quite right timmy the memory plays tricks on us after 50yrs I remember being astounded by the progress it made not
just later in its 2yr old season but through out its whole career. well done a good question not many ever get that one right I only followed it because I backed it that day shame I cant even claim an aftertime winner from 50 years ago ![]() On his debut at Newcastle in August, Vaguely Noble was beaten by the margin of a neck by Sweet Thanks. The following month he lost by three parts of a length to Saraceno, where the going was not firm. The winner overtook him in the final furlong, although in the middle of October, Vaguely Noble came into his own, winning the Sandwich Stakes by 12 lengths. |
