This would shut the mockers up wouldn't it????

Yesterday - very well fancied as told and very well backed from 16-1 and 20-1 to as low as 9-2 in places. Got beaten just over a length after two no shows last term and apparently that's a cra* tip. Funny!

Anyway, onwards and upwards and if anyone thinks Hammond is taking Pollyana to Ireland without her having a serious chance then they're crazy.

According to the write ups she prefers a softer ground, but I wonder if that's got anything to do with the fact that her last 12 runs all being on soft, very soft or heavy. True, he could have traveled with her to find better ground and now he HAS. The way she was hanging at Ascot, I'd say this better ground is well worth a go.

40-1 is massive and well worth a few bob each-way.

Whatever you do, good luck and enjoy the Sunday before the heatwave comes.

Thanks for that, Crooser. Another interesting 40/1 shot is Mutatis Mutandis. GL

From Ed Walker's website:

On Sunday we are much looking forward to having our first European Group 1 runner, Mutatis Mutandis has been supplemented for the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes over 1m2f, she is drawn 1 of 9 and will be ridden by George Baker. She will be one of the outsiders but it is very exciting and having won her Listed race at Nottingham last time we can now be ambitious. There was a complete lack of suitable options for her over this trip in the near future and Andrew Black has been very sporting to give it a go.

This would probably be the first time in history that a trainer has sent one to Ireland looking for a sounder surface, ffs it isnt like theyve been racingon bogs over here is it?!!!

He actually said "There was a complete lack of suitable options for her over this trip in the near future"

That didn't necessarily mean he was going for the going.

The Middleton Stakes at York boasts a fairly good record as a Key race for finding a horse with
a chance in this, so I will side with Ribbons from the Fanshawe Yard Good Luck wooserExcited

Pollyana has been racing on soft, very soft and heavy.

Now goes to Ireland for a suitable option... better ground isn't putting him off going is it is all I'm saying.

Thought she needed the race at York and will run much better today provided she had a nice
trip over,,but she has traveled to France and won a Group one so I'm very hopeful of a big runExcited

Just giving "tips" for the sake of it now,40/1 but 400/1 would be a more realistic price.

..or, could it just be that the owner, Mrs Emma Kennedy who is Irish, just wants to have a runner at her local track on a big day Plain
