Think the Stewards need to remind him that some people actually bet each-way.  Looks as if by easing down he has done the bookmakers a massive favour.

Seemed determined to fiddle about with the reins throughout the final furlong. Kept changing his whip despite having the rail to run against and should have certainly made the 4.

Exactly, it was hard to say what he was messing about at. Several bookmakers were paying on the first five.

Leaving aside the finishing effort he probably used up too much petrol too early and then committed for home too early as well. He has never been the most subtle rider in the weighing room which made the apparent lack of effort close home all the more surprising.

(IMHO) perfectly good ride given the draw and how the horse came out of the stalls. Given what the trainer had said earlier, he was probably following an agreed plan in positioning the horse as he did. Seamour had shortened significantly in running as a result of the manoeuvre.

Swerved the race. Some really good rides there. De Sousa must have got the weighing room sympathy vote as he didn't have to do much more than stay on board.
