asked at the off it it had a chance and he said the ground was wrong and it had no chance

I got it wrong anyway, he said the ground is quick enough for him, it was his Northern mumbling. Mind you, that could mean good or bad, so still don't know what he meant

What he meant was that he would prefer softer ground as I think you knew anyway
