Just drag someone in from the local bookies and save on the fee, imo...
Report Glasgow Brian June 26, 2015 8:00 PM BST
it wouldn't be a good system for following Philip Hobbs's

^^ Or Henderson, imo...

aye - another one is ruth carr - im convinced if you just backed her ones that are well backed youd be a winner over the year
Report EvgenyKissin June 26, 2015 8:05 PM BST
And Ted Caine's - his never win when they drift.

Tony Calvin - he seems to move jobs a lot . Now we know why.

Glasgow,it wouldn't be a good system following any trainer. Obviously the odd drifter wins, but far more often than not they double in price for a reason.
Report pablo-fanque June 26, 2015 8:12 PM BST
TRD , so lay all the drifters and you will profit ?

I doubt it

Tony Calvin has been in the racing and tipping business for over 25 years, encompassing a 12-year stint at the Racing Post and an 11-year spell as Head Of Media at Betfair.

Moves around a lot? You sure?

pablo I back much more than I lay. If I fancy one at say 5/1 and it drifts to 10/1,11/1 12/1 I would be very concerned. Drifting a point or two doesn't overly concern me,but doubling or more in price would be a concern

Tony Calvin is just another hanger on in a once great industry...
Report pablo-fanque June 26, 2015 8:26 PM BST
I never heard him saying double in price, I heard him say if it drifts he doesn't get put off backing it .

TRD , if you fancy a horse that you reckon is 5/1 and it is gambled to 5/2 and you missed 5s , do you still back it ?

not a trick question , just curious
Report TRD.Racing June 26, 2015 8:32 PM BST
No I do not.

Calvin was on last week saying the same thing,if it doubles or even more he would have more on.

You would think being ex Betfair he would know better. He just fancied County Wexford, because it was the pace in the race, most front runners on Betfair will shorten pre race,County Wexford doubled in price and ran accordingly
