Amazing how many of his shorties get beat. Equally amazing how many of his only win if it's a big pot or there a big price and well backed.

His touches are usually of the 10s or 8s into 4s or 3s variety

Ger couldnt land a touch if he put his hand down the front of his pants.
A bluffer of gigantic proportions.

Not a fan of his but he's had a few at Dundalk recently to be fair.

Dundalk isnt far off banded racing, there are guys win races there that wouldnt win on the grass in 20 years.
Even guys like Halford  and Lynam who arent neccesarily bad trainers, have nowhere near the strike rate they have on the turf as they do in Dundalk.

Aidan O Brien doesnt run that many in Dundalk, neither does Bolger or Weld or Oxx for that matter.

Lyons started from the bottom of the ladder and he is now in the top 5 trainers in Ireland without the patronage of a big owner. Consistently banging in Stakes winners. Top class trainer in my book with a very healthy strike rate.

MJK you havent a clue.  Ger's two year olds dont go on as a general rule.  They peak after a run and downhill generally after that.  Most two year olds are worth laying in maidens if they havent won after 3 spins such as the horse tonight who will never win a maiden.
As for Ger he comes accross as a know it all but knows nothin.

So his horses don't generally need the application of cash then before winning which was the general point?

Patronage of a big owner? Suppose Qatar racing are nobody. Met him once. A bluffer, but the Irish have a more profane term.

If anybody ever needs to get sick then go and read his Facebook page, what a load of bollloxx that is. Nauseating in the extreme , but it just about sums up Lyons. He needs to think he's someone , constantly wants to be in the limelight . To make things worse you will have the apes on it massaging his huge ego , telling him how transparent he is. You'd swear he was Bob Baffert the way he goes on..
MJK, I wouldn't say the application of cash makes any difference to Lyons horses, his stable are well backed because they run on their merits mostly, not like other stables who are much more difficult to predict.
Ye will have to excuse The Gotchee, he is under the impression that Sheik Mohmmed and the Qataris have no money , well they wouldn't have if they were listening to his tips!!

Mincer agree re the Facebook, Twitter stuff etc. Nauseating. I suppose that's why Chapman loves him. Two peas in a pod.
