By:
she was let down by some of henrys so called friends by not sending her horses
By:
The ponsonbys and all the other hanger on's soon disappeared good friends they turned out to be.
By:
She came over thoroughly likable in the Frankel documentary.

I'm sure Abdullah could have sent her 20 horses from his vast wealth and empire

Anybody who could get Noble Mission to win a group 1 can't be that bad

Can't blame her. SO much work running a big racing stable if your hearts not in it Why not let someone else have a go.
Take the millions, buy a nice house and live the life of a retired lady. Poor old Henry would turn in his grave but that's live folks. |
By:
Very sad , let down she was ...
By:
Thats because she is swardean.
Loverly lady . . . But times move on sadly. |
By:
ponsonby is just a toff only cares about himself
By:
How old is she?
Looks about 20 years younger than Sir Henry so probably only in her early 50's. |
By:

General Custer his didnt exactly improve did they when he took them away

Makes sense now when you see stable staff leaving last year. Think she maybe just agreed to stay on for small bit and tie up loose ends.
By:
Personally i think it would have been great if she would give it another year surely abdullah would have sent her some Frankels.
By:
By:
Why would any one send her horses just because she was married to cecil, the stable staff held the place together and did the training.
By:
Carrot she was involved with horses before she married Sir Henry and she learnt plenty off him, some of the staff like Mike Marshall left anyway so she did well in her first year.
By:
Thats really sad news , she done very well considering circumstances she had to carry on in and dealing with tragic loss also
Im very sad the name wont be carried on but she seems a really decent woman and wish her well , |

Time to hand over to Richard Hughes ....

By:
Sentimental maybe( nothing wrong in that whatsoever). Pathetic ? Hardly.

I suspect General the offer was to good to refuse , i guess the house was part of the deal . I don't blame her i thinks she done okay with limited ammunition. Downer for me its the boys in blue buying.

I don't pretend to know some of the background gossip as much as others do, whether they are pretending or actually are correct and know, but the only name we've seen in this thread so far regarding owners letting anyone down is Henry Ponsonby.
As I understand it though, didn't the couple or so runners he sent to Alan King intend going jumping and I'm assuming the Cecil yard doesn't have a dual purpose licence? |

Oh yes always go hand in hand |
By:
I think the sanctification of Henry Cecil is getting out of hand.Sure he was a good (and at times very good) trainer ,but he was certainly no saint. In my mind Warren Place is synonymous with one of the truly GREAT trainers of the post war era namely Noel Murless.

Nope soz posy cant agree with that im afraid . . .HRAC Did and always will stand alone, yes Frankel was gift from the gods, but the man was a absloute genius with fillys and a total gent to boot.
By:
Do you know Deltâ if the yard had a dual licence in 2013, because I think that's around the time that horses like First Mohican and Tiger Cliff were moved to Alan King?
