Have been left cursing my luck over subscribing to a website that is slow and unresponsive then being unable to access my own notes because the Racing Post can't upgrade without closing that part of the site down. Perhaps I should email them and tell them that instead.

Midfield, headway 9th, upsides on bit 2 out, soon led, going well 4 lengths clear when fell last, unlucky

Had between £800-£1000 at odds between 28 and 35 on here, laid off £2000 which got matched about 4 out. Won on the bet but took me a long time to get over it

More nonsense from the Rancid Post to make up for the shortfall of proper editorial content.

I have finally decided to finish with it forever. Just print off the race cards when I'm going racing.

An absolute joke of a publication with a supine editor.

York Races. Willie Carson. Had a fairly big bet doubling Teleprompter with Cherry Hill, both ridden by WC. Teleprompter went in and I was hoping for Carson to bring home a wedge! Instead he dropped his hands on Cherry Hill with the race at his mercy. Nabbed on line by Tony Ives on Chaumiere! I have had many bad luck moments in my betting life but this was pure jockey error! Was working in Corals shop back in 1980 & there was a local independent along the parade  where I put all my bets on.
Used to love sorting out horses in the big races & sorted one for the Northumberland plate & one for the Irish Derby the bet was as follows

Mons Beau £2 ew Northumberland Plate 40/1
Tyrnavos  £2 ew Irish Derby          25/1

For some inexplicable reason I did not do my usual £1 ewd the two.
When I went in to the shop on the Monday the manager started laughing his head off, they had both won but I still to this day don't know why my stake was £8 that day instead of a tenner Cry

When I was a boy i did some job training at I Baldings and fell in love with a grey filly called Key To The Kingdom
I waited about 4 months for her to appear at Sandown with J Mercer riding .She was expected to start about a 10/1 chance
and i had 250 ew my normal bet at the time was a 50p yankee and a 10p itv7. I told all my mates she was a flying machine
and they all backed for various amounts 5pound ew that sort of thing.Anyway we all crowded round the tv as she began to drift
and I could feel every ones confidence beginning to ebb away. She went off at double carpet i think it was reared and hit her head on the stalls losing at least 15 lengths and thought I was about to get lynched, but as she hit the rising ground she simply flew but failed to get up by a head.

I brought a horse with money I won on a placepot called frimley parkson horse was running in a newmarket sprint
and i thought it must have a great chance had a bottle ew at 14s also in the race was its stable companion ever so artistic
a 33s chance and short runner needless to say it held on for once beating mine a sh/h.

Handtorofe, I remember that horse! A guy who went into the local bookies whose surname was Parks always backed it, early 1990s I would say.  I don't ever recall it winning when I was watching but I am sure it did.

We All have plenty of tales dont we Ash? we post some of them on here for free and they're often 'egregious'... But I'm of similar mind to Movie 24 Jun 15 18:21 and Swordy and Tree etc. if the Rancid P. needs them, whilst ignoring travesties like VLaV then they need to make explicit a 'You've Been Framed' or Captain Cash of The Sun, type payment for responses they publish....Over to you Bruce M.
