the early 70s was a golden era - Nijinsky, The Brigadier, Mill Reef, Roberto - just looked up the winners of the 2000 guineas at that time - couldn't remember them all - doesn't time fly by

other than the two you mentioned Geordie the 70s wasn't a vintage decade for 2000 guineas winners however the decade started and finished with high class derby winners.
