BHA launches Bettors forum

What a waste of time and money. If they need to know what punter think just have a look at this forum, They'll find out which are the crooked jockeys the dodge trainers and the awful stall handlers, the the general shambles of the steward and the race course managers.

Punter: 'Hi, is that Coral/Ladbrokes/Hills/Betfred/Stan James/Bet365 - I'd like £200 at 4-1 please'

Bookmaker:  'There's been a trading decision sir, you can have £20 at SP'

Punter: 'But I thought Nick Rust wanted to 'increase betting turnover'?

Bookmaker:  'Well, er, when he says he wants to increase betting turnover that's actually just the turnover of people that lose. Everyone else is reducing the bookmakers' profitability, and as, obscenely, he gets a share of our profits rather than our turnover, it's 100% in the interests of British Racing that people who are successful at betting on it are excluded and disenfranchised at every opportunity'.

Punter: 'Er, so what about this 'punters forum'

Bookmaker:  Didn't you read the press release that the media willingly regurgitated this morning? He's not actually interested in punters and their 'grievances', he just wants to work out how to milk some more money out of them - it's a bit like getting a bunch of very stupid turkeys together and persuading them to go out and buy the 12 inch extended mix of I Wish It Could be Christmas Every Day'

Punter: 'Anyone would think Nick Rust was a thoroughly mendacious former bookmaking industry henchman of some stature, imo...'

Most valid point on the thread so far Millhouse....another keyboard warrior who posts far more than he bets, like many others on here with tens of thousands of posts top heavy in absolute drivel.

breaks up my day, millhouse...i have my fun...punting from home all day a challenge to anyone's concentration and discipline

The thought of a proper BHA forum sounded fun,  but individuals representing private interests does not do it for me. Are the small punters gonna have any chance too put their often wrong opinions forward?, This could prove time consuming for the moderators.

sparrow, yes, my original post was deleted...not sure why, i sl@gged off the forum in general but no-one individually

I have some sympathy Duncan , the forum is missing many of the original contributions, they have given up, my own  poor literacy does not help(I accept this) I do miss the old posters ,I could read and understand.

We had a thread on the greyhound forum ruined by deleted posts the other day.

dont think i've ever had too much trouble reading your posts, MJ...i suppose i'm on thin ice cos it's a long time since i treated the horse racing forum as anything other than knockabout jousting, chiefly cos it's pointless debating with most of the pocket talkers and fantasists on here..

was different years ago, as you say, as was General Betting more recently, though that place has ground to a halt the last 2 or 3 yrs...can only hope the input on the BHA Forum is more considered and rounded or it will indeed be a waste of time and effort (and indeed a wasted opportunity).

The General Betting forum is one of the best and ought to be nearer the top of the menu instead of buried at the bottom. I'm sure many are unaware of it's existence.

by the way, basil, this 'keybaord warrior who posts far more than he bets' is currently Showing 1 - 20 of 1300 markets in my last 3 months P/L

...how much more than that should i be betting to meet your requirements, please?
