....Bets for today... E.W.  Mutsajeeb 16.20 Ascot 11-2 (will hill 1/4 odds 1-2-3-4)

                                 E.W. Louis The Pious 25-1, Watchable 14-1 & Algar Lad 25-1 (various BOG 5places)

E.W. Marzocco 6-1 generally use BOG 1/4 odds firms

E.W. Doubles & trebles all with WH for 4 places concession on first selection.

Today is the final day of the Ascot meeting, I'm not entirely certain if it is part of "Royal Ascot", or if it's merely Ascot heath day, as it was once upon a time. Regardless of what it's called I'm interested in 5 runners on today's card. It's been a very low profile week for me in terms of betting ,  but having followed mange in on War Envoy earlier in the week on his one of interest thread I'm up on the week from 3 very small investments.
I've decided to have a go at a big return today, I'm hopeful that the place part of the bets will be good enough for a decent return, but the win aspects will be very handsome indeed.

My first fancy goes in the Diamond Jubilee, which looks a top class renewal of the race,  with both Australia and America represented by decent looking animals. It is the Irish trained Mustajeeb that I'm siding with today, who has now reverted to sprinting after running with credit in some extremely high class mile events last season. Mustajeeb could just about be anything in this sphere, having comprehensively accounted for some race fit proven group 2 &1 performers on his seasonal bow at the Curragh last month. I was very impressed with the early toe he displayed to keep tabs with ease on some very speedy types, then being eased out looked to quicken past some very decent types that were also quickening themselves, making the win look no more than workmanlike if truth be known, Imo it was miles better than it looked with a fairly decent clock given the underfoot conditions. He's already shown he can handle Ascot when taking the Jersey Stakes last year, I'm also fairly sure he will cope with the faster conditions as well. I can see today's contest being ran to suit his tracking style, I for one would be disappointed if 4 finished in front of him given the potential he poses, so have availed myself to some 11-2 with William Hills who are paying the concession of 4th place in today race.

The next race I've decided to side with all three of the O'Meara contingency, out of his runners I like Louis The Pious the most. Having put him up in that nice race at York over 7F I'm happy to keep him onside now returning to 6F, despite the fact he shaped really well in that latest contest over a furlong longer, albeit at York. Watchable looks set to run his race now returning to 6F, especially at this venue. Algar Lad the least exposed in terms of the trip from his trio of runners and looks to appreciate lightning fast ground. He could be produced late on in the stand side group, however I'm not truly convinced that the stand side is the place to be, especially if you consider the straight races this week have been dominated by middle to stand side or horses that have wandered over from their high draws. Those three will do for me E.W. against the field, I'm on at 25's, 14's and 25-1 respectively.

The curtain closes with the longest race of the week, which has usually gone to something prominent in the betting in the last 10 years. Despite this race being dominated by older horses recently It has been a good hunting ground for some of the unexposed younger types, with Marzocco having just the type of low mileage unexposed profile  that you would want for this type of race. Last season he ran very credibly in some ultra hot contests, he was 3rd in the Queens Vase at Royal Ascot, 4th in a Great Volitigeur, 5th in a Grand Prix du Paris  and 5th in a St Leger, all of those contests a proverbial mile better than a class 2 conditions race he takes in today. He seems to run very well when fresh( form line of 1-2-1 ) and is probably better suited to top of the ground given the overall analysis of all know form. Both Wicklow Brave and Oriental Fox look able enough adversaries, but just think Marzocco posses a healthy combination of both staying power and class to account for them both. I've also backed him E.W., in truth I'd be astounded if there was  three in today's line up presently good enough to finish in front of him.

Best of luck whatever your on, especially if your on any of the above...
