but at the end of the day unless these trainers stop using sub standard jockeys they probably deserve what they get.
spot on |

olddes....i really think the joseph obrien weight problem is a red herring....
|
|
By:
Over the years they've had Lester, Eddery, Murtagh et al - who else did you want them to use?
|
|
By:
I'm talking recently johnny,
They copped on to Spencer quick enough and gave him the heave ho , god son or not but Joseph got an extended run despite costing them big time. I like Joseph and his knowledge and attention to detail seems to be stronger than the old man but good jockey he aint. Despite millions at stake I can't understand how trainers / owners continue with jocks that are just not up to the class their riding at. I'm all for loyalty but certain class of horse in certain races deserve the better jockeys to maximize the horses chance. |

I BELIEVE THESE ARE GOOD PROFESSIONALS WHO REALLY KNOW THE HORSES VERY WELL AND DECIDE WHICH ONE SHOULD BE SHORT WITH A GOOD IDEA THAT BIG PRICE IS BETT ER THAN 6/4 ...CALLED CHANCE ....!!!! SO MUCH indecision by jocks going for gaps closing on them all time and wandering horses unbalanced changing legs it must feel like a minefield the race track .....and ?? too many with number one attached to them ...still to be ...earned from pocket talkers ... GREAT RIDE IF YOU ARE ON ON ....YOU TAKE YOUR CHANCE EVERY WAGER !!!!!

Glad to see you back on the go jim .
Hope your feeling better now. |

The funny thing is Moore is so great at his job simply because he does the simple things and doesn't always look for the "Hollywood" ride no messing around trying to look clever ala Spencer,Hughes,Soumillon,

2 MONTHS TO RECOVER BEFORE GO BACK FOR 3 MORE STENTS ... olddesperado

Absolutely chelts,
I've been saying that for a while . He keeps it simple and gives everything a chance. If a horse needs cover it can be found in 6th or 7th , Spencer thinks it has to be stone last. Ironically when the money is down at the gaff tracks there is very few better than Spencer from the front. My guess is he is left in no doubt how it is to be ridden on these gambles. |

Moore has 1. Brain Cells that work
2. Unreal clock in his head knows the sections 3. Great Balance on the horse 4. Works with the horse in Rythym 5. If anyone tries to box him in he will in the main blow them out of it Spencer et al have none of the above |
|
By:
Doubt it jim,
Seems a long time since the club ran like clockwork under Ferguson and David Gill. Only 2 years but already spent more than Ferguson in his lifetime. |
|
By:
Only few years ago Murtagh was riding even better than Moore at Ballydoyle and just as Chelt says, its because the absolute top class jocks realise its the horses that win races and the jocks that lose them. That doing as little as possible and keeping it as simple as possible is the best way....
|

By:
Tim I think Spencer has a good clock and a good horseman but the braincells are a problem for him and as you say unlike Moore will not force a gap if he has to.
I really think he believes his own hype and wants the adulation for last to first rides. |

By:
no doubt J O'B is decent, but Moore is really showing what a proper horse/jockey combo can do together.
I think Joseph has done exceptionally well given the way that he's not built for the job. Poor lad deserves a good meal |

Not that much, I've seen Ryan give coolmore horses bad rides, whose to say another jock wouldnt have won on them?
|
|
By:
ryan managed to get telescope beat first time up.
great jockey though and very much a punters friend. |
|
By:
agreed, best riding today no doubt but like anyone hes human and makes mistakes, mistakes another jock wouldnt have made but who knows, u gotta accept hes gonna get horses beat like the rest of em.
