Are the pools co-mingled with the PMU?
I got stung on Makfi's guineas win, having bet on the Tote. Ended up with10/1 ish instead of 33.0 |

However,to answer your question, who knows? I've always been uncomfortable with a bookie owning the Tote.
|
|
By:
they are co-mingled with the bald knockers personal account....

there have been many threads and there are numerous ways that Baldy can be "at it - I am convinced money - i.e "his" is going in after the off on an in running basis.

It has been a joke since Done took it over. But never a mention of that by the racing press or media.

have to agree, especially at the big meetings. you forgot to mention the amount of times that the total pots decrease in value, one win pot went from 14000 to 11500 final pot, jiggery pokery definitely going on |

That place market cannot be right...
Even the less gifted amongst you must be able to see that.. |
|
By:
they take a bigger % out of the place market.
|

By:
They must do fella..
All is not right and I would not even bet with that rancid bald knocker (even if I could).. The sooner he loses the will to live and the Tote concession the better... |

i'd imagine the auditing is ether through the gambling commission or whoever the appointed auditor is for betfred
the problem is, if betting was being messed with the chance of anyone finding it are pretty much nil without a whistle blower what is interesting and you can make of it what you like, but in recent years on course betting turnover has been steadily falling, however since fred took over the tote they'd seen about a 23% increase in tote betting on horses personally, i find that a bit odd when betting on the whole is in decline for racing, so where is that tote influx of cash coming from? can anyone think of a genuine reason why that much uplift has happened (other than "someone" is dropping in large chunks under the radar)? |

I can elise as people that used to work for me are involved in a hub where pools allegedly co-mingle..
However that does not explain the terrible Tote returns on certain big races when you would expect English trained horses to be big prices.. You have a Hong Kong horse involved in a Group One race at Ascot and two other horses are 1.10 for a place... Send for the Police for that Bald Burglar... |
|
By:
Correct me if I am wrong - But I make the TOTE price/Dividends Book percentage on the above, first, race at Ascot today
TOTE Win Book - 121% TOTE Place Book (to 3 Places) - 363% - thus - 121% per Place. |

Might be out of date;
Below is a list of the % deductions from each type of tote bet: Win Bet - 16.5% Place Bet - 18% Jackpot - 29% Placepot - 27% Quadpot - 26% Scoop 6 - 30% Exacta - 25% Trifecta - 25% Toteswinger - 30% |
