If somebody tells you not to put your hand down well they can expect everything they get.I love terriers for this,great little house dogs & you need them round here.

To be honest I don't do a lot of studying on the flat.When I've spent 5 months,5 days a week approx. 6 hrs a day on the pointers I  st switch off unless I'm going to a meeting.If I didn't I'd go round the bend,some may say I'm already round there now.For thebooksat Ascot have a bit of patience when those ****s in all their gear & the same glass of Pimms or Champers comes & asks for their £ 1 on Frankie don't be too rude when you tell them to go away.That's after they've stood in front of your joint for 5 mins stopping genuine punters from getting in then when you give them their ticket they say sorry love I wanted it each way or they ask for each way you give them their change then you get accused of robbing them.They give you a fiver for £1 each way ,you give them £3 change then it's well I only wanted to stake a £1.Let out once a year & can't you tell,if they would only go upto any book on the track prior to racing the book would explain it all to them but no they know best.Another golden rule lads is don't lose your patience when with only seconds left prior to one of the later races when you are trying to put the book right & they say can you check these for me whilst once again genuine punters can't get in for them.
One of thebest things I've ever done is sell my pitch at the blooming place.

I didn't back the Mullings horse instead I laid the unlucky horse from last year.I love these unlucky horses,they've got to be laid.

When I went past your shop last week I saw you'd had a break in.The game must be paying,getting repairs or modefications done.
As for David as you say I've never known him have a bad un.The only thing is when he comes over to back one he's the biggest beggar on the track.If I'm going 4's 5's isn't big enough he'll be after 6's & he usually gets somewhere inbetween after we've had our little bit of bartering.Even when he was into trotting he always had a decent one.He's certainly been a lucky owner over the years.
Anyhow all the best & I hope those bingo addicts don't cause too much stress this week.They'll be putting their hats on this week to come in & play.

I've just read your reply again & it made me smile.Let me tell you about this little bitch & you'll probably have a smile also.
At 6 month old she was placed in the Dogs Trust at Leeds where she spent the next 18 months of her life.She was actually rehomed 5 times but she was returned everytime,she WAS vicious.Even in the kennels they called her the beast as she used to bite them all.Even when we go back with her on the open day the older staff who remember her keep out of her way.I don't know if you are aware the Dogs Trust do not put healthy dogs down & if they cannot be rehomed they are kept out of the way of the public.As a last resort one of the staff fostered her for a while prior to my daughter taking her on.By this time she was alright with women but hated blokes so the first thing I got off her was a bite.After a while we managed to get her calmed down but she still hates blokes she doesn't know & who comes anywhere near our house.
So here's the amusing bit of the tale.Outside the front door I've a sign about 2ft by1ft saying beware of the dog,enter at your own risk.Well this particular warm day last summer the front door was open & this daft lad came up the path trying to sell fish & just ignoring the sign knocked on the door.Of course she heard him & she was off,he shot down the garden path with her just behind him.When he reached the gate he slammed the gate that hard that the gate fell off so his only option was to jump in the back of the van among the fish with the bitch close behind him.When I rescued him he still tried to sell me his fish but he's never come up our path again.She is exactly how I want her,great with kids,women & blokes she knows but let a strange bloke come anywhere near her patch & she's there.A brilliant little dog & those that took her back to the kennels will never realise what a brilliant little dog they took back.
