SHOCKING...
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:45 PM BST
not a chance in hell that horse would have beaten the godolphin runner

yes couls of got first run but would have been collared whatever
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 June 9, 2015 5:46 PM BST
didnt have a race in second, was no time by the time hughes decided to go
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:47 PM BST
that was a smart turn of foot

the front 2 miles clear so form looks right
Report OVERSEAS June 9, 2015 5:47 PM BST
may well have Mr Edge....but its a poor ride from Hughes not kicking early and seeing if the Godolphin horse could quicken again...fwiw I only played the short place market so no pocket talk...
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:48 PM BST
wasn't closing a yard when got after and had experience

best horse with gears wins the race and always would of.
Report kavvie June 9, 2015 5:48 PM BST
i was up to my neck in the fav but no wat it could have won  that winner looks smart
Report koikeeper June 9, 2015 5:48 PM BST
Hughes thought he had it won, looked like Pmullins, going from on the bit to a full blown ride, horse just couldnt pick up that quick.
Report tartangigha June 9, 2015 5:49 PM BST
hughes horse was a galloper who should have been sent on, shocking ride, if he did that on a johnston horse he'd never get a ride again. If the better horse wins ok but don't play silly buggers when the race needs winning
Report Cider June 9, 2015 5:49 PM BST
striding spot on, although Hughes caught napping the winner looks tasty and would have won anyway.
Report Daryl Revok June 9, 2015 5:49 PM BST
Call me a traditionalist, but I like my races decided on the track, not in the minds of R Hughes, D.Revok or S.Edge.
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:49 PM BST
thats true koi

but reality is if he pushed earlier his mount got no chance against the gear change of winner
Report OVERSEAS June 9, 2015 5:51 PM BST
gave up the rail position...went 3 or 4 horse wide to get run...confirmed stayer..should have gone hard against rail...yes winner looks a 90 plus horse in the making but its poor from Hughes not to maximise his strengths early on..
Report Captain Christy June 9, 2015 5:51 PM BST
As long as the handicapper takes no notice of the Mr Brightside run that was the idea of the ride to keep its mark down.
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:51 PM BST
surely its the end result that matters, on that evidence he was beat by a very smart looking debutant rather than a poorly judged ride.

daryl perhaps lets see where these horses end up?

thinking hughes wins that race if he goes earlier is by far the least likely outcome

rather than getting in a heated debate we'll agree to disagree
Report stridingedge June 9, 2015 5:52 PM BST
trouble is on here its not very long when you have a different opinion you are called a **** LaughCrazy

everyone entitled to their opinion

crack on...
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 June 9, 2015 5:53 PM BST
They walked for 5 furlongs, if Hughes had kicked when Hughes took the gap he would have won the race, the winner is probably a 6f horse.
Report TRD.Racing June 9, 2015 5:54 PM BST
Whether the 2nd would have won is not really the point, the point is Hughes gave the 2nd a shocker, poncing around instead of sending it on. No bet here, just an observation
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 June 9, 2015 5:54 PM BST
Hughes was trying to be cheeky and he gave away any chance he had with the winner, bottom line
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 June 9, 2015 5:56 PM BST
a crawl at 7f and hughes horse had barely been asked to go up a gear entering the final furlong, its not even had a race
Report Cider June 9, 2015 5:56 PM BST
So price them up in a rematch under the same conditions. It is possible to ride a bad race yet achieve the best possible position.
Report MJK June 9, 2015 5:59 PM BST
Winner would've won anyway but Hughes was posing. Jockeys can ride bad races and would've still lost with a better ride. Never understand the 'would'nt have won anyway' comment to defend a poor ride.

Richard Hughes' attitude to 'minor' racing has been shocking this season.

Not even trying for an afternoon in the Brighton fog a week or two ago was taking the mickey.
Report oneyallbeenwaiting4 June 9, 2015 6:09 PM BST
kant gets up a nose in a 50 accross the track finish, beat in a 2 horse race

When he bangs in a few winners at Goodwood the experts will be asking him why he's retiring as he's riding as well as everExcited

Report Vubiant June 9, 2015 6:19 PM BST
Yes , I'm a slow learner but I've had to give upon Hughes in AvB bets. As soon as he calculates  he can't win by a cosy nose he stands up in the stirrups.
Report koikeeper June 9, 2015 6:40 PM BST
LF won, but thought again it was a terrible ride, all over the place..
Report ThunderRoad June 9, 2015 6:57 PM BST
Horse is a bit of a pig over a mile tbf. Plenty of talent but pulls it's head off and can't really finish off.

Needs dropping down to 6 furlongs.
Report Try My Best June 9, 2015 7:22 PM BST
Hughes and Noseda lay all day. It was a shocker from Hughes full stop.
