Main feature in today's Racing Post pullout. Didn't this story reach saturation point ages ago? It is hardly as if the Owen/Dascombe alliance has been anything like a major success. Can anyone name another one of their horses? I suspect the coverage vastly outweighs the interest.

It is almost as if the racing media feels compelled to try and sell the sport through the attention of 'celebrities'. Can only be thankful that Rooney's flirtation didn't amount to anything.

Its the same every year when Channel 4 have the Chester May meeting, they always seem to have an item about Michael Owen.

As you say you can't name many of his other horses.

Thommo sometimes mentions him........if he has a runner

C4 Morning Line practically devoted a whole programme the other week to Brown Panther,Dasconme and Owen. Now repeated via RP . What's going on ? Are connections paying a media company for this PR ?

Just wait until Joey Essex buys a horse and then see the publicity machine go into overdrive
Cant believe Rod"look at me I'm making racing wonderful"Street hasnt been on to the great man encouraging him to buy an Ascot 2yo so that they can invite Joey to ride down the course with her maj on day one of the royal meeting

Agreed. Brown Panther has been an excellent servant to them, but the yard is hardly worth the level of publicity they seem to get when you look at the results compared to the level of resource they have access to.

Who was their last big race performer prior to Brown Panther? Ceiling Kitty (who was then packed off to stud at the end of her 2yo career)?

The Racing Post pull out on Sunday just isnt worth the read, same old boring stuff week after week. £16 a week for the rag is becoming harder to justify, add the cost of another daily paper and I reckon I am paying about £1000 for reading matter free on here. Starting to question if it is worth it.

I remember it being the same when Billy Fury had a horse.

In your own words you are spending £1000 per annum for something you can get for free on line.
And you're  actually questioning whether it's worth it ???!!
