She stayed longer than the mother in law.  If she won, they would have said she was idling in front.
There is an excuse/ explanation for every horse racing scenario.

Anything in the top 6 stayed just not as fast as the ones in front. Dropped down in class the likes of Together  Forever etc would all win over 1mile 4 furlongs.

utter b0ll0cks. It's prob not its best distance but it stayed alright and wins the race 9 time out of 10.

she stayed better than everything bar qualify.. people forgetting she spent a lot of energy going to the start. Cant say she didnt stay, she may be better over 1m2f but she stayed

He is a very sensible lad but certainly didn't agree with his comment that she didn't stay.

She stayed better than the  other 9 she beat .

Not sure she would have won at a mile and a quarter in my opinion she stayed  however she was outstayed

It's all relative. She's got more speed than the winner but less stamina. She was outstayed.

Agreed. If Qualify had stayed in her box at Coolmore like odds suggested she should, there's not a single person on here who would be suggesting Legatissimo won but didnt stay

in broader sense, it all depends on your definition of 'stayed'...if your definition is not that a horse doesnt stay any trip beyond that which is its optimum, then whether it stayed or not becomes down to the opposition its running against ie if you run a champion miler against a bunch 0-60 horses at 2m, the champion miler would still win...some would thus say he stays 2m but does he really?

For me the best jockey of his generation got trapped in panicked and ended up going to early. He wouldn't go for home 3F out by choice. In the Irish Oaks Legistammo will beat it a furlong.

You can maybe argue she was outstayed (and even that is pushing it a bit) but she clerly did stay and you only have to look at how she pulled away from the 3rd to see that, unless of course you want to argue the 3rd didn't stay either and nor did the 4th and the rest of the field.

There are the usual bog standard responses when a horse gets beaten trying the trip for the first time and not staying is often top of the list.

Think she's better over 10 furlongs, definitely stayed though.
