Finished 7th in the same race last year won by Caspian Prince, only beaten 2L, but was giving the winner 7 lb and receives 4 lb today, so an 11 lb turnaround.
Oddly enough, CP has the same draw (14) as when he won and MJ is almost the same (7 today - 9 last year). High draws are favoured over 5f at Epsom and filled the first 5 places last year, so 7 is not ideal, although not a significant disadvantage. Has a 4 lb penalty, but he's a classy sprinter (Grp winner in the past) and won a class 2 LTO so he's in form. Trading around 16's (4's the 4 places) but generally races off the pace, so could be bigger in running.

Sageform, no I didn't, I didn't think it could win from draw 1, even though it beat MJ a neck a couple of races ago and was better off at the weights. Approaching the final furlong I thought MJ would pick the winner up as he runs on well. |
