Raratonga, The Cook Islands is simply sublime. No words could really do the place justice, you have to go for yourself to find out.

Slippy Blue,

My Daughter was working in the Cook Islands last year, looking at some of the photos she took I do envy you. Pity it as not easy to get to.

Barstool, we were on the way to spend 2 months in New Zealand and had heard such good things about The Cook Islands we had a 5 day stay there on the way. Such a truly beautiful stunning group of islands. I could not recommend a visit highly enough, you will not be disappointed trust me.

In Sardinia you drive for miles off the beaten track, and when you finally get to that beautiful stretch of golden sand 10,000 Ities have already beaten you to it.Cry

In that part of the world Corsica takes a lot of beating. No package groups there.

Anyone been to Bali? I'm booking flights to Auckland for September and would like a stopover for a few days. I've been to Singapore and didn't like it, the humidity was beyond ridiculous. Any suggestions welcome tia.
Report SlippyBlue June 5, 2015 9:33 PM BST
Not Hawaii either, Honolulu is a ghastly place.
Report deepblue June 6, 2015 12:04 AM BST
bali is interesting island slippy upmarket accomadation go to nusa dua nice private beach no sellers or beggers.
go to ulu watu if you like to do a bit of surfing plenty of day trips out.
give Kuta a miss its a dump.good luck if you go ubud a nice village to visit.
Report laluche June 6, 2015 3:20 AM BST
bali is not a good destination for beaches

some of the island's interior is nice though.

if you want something special / natural, forget about Europe / North America and most of Asia.

I know the hate will flow, but it's obvious hardly anyone here has ever been to anything other than a tourist trap beach

if you're going to spend a few grand and want something non-touristy, go the extra mile
Report laluche June 6, 2015 3:22 AM BST
one of the less famous spots in Thailand might suit you
Report racingguru June 6, 2015 4:27 AM BST
Re Bali - its a long way to go for a beach - Nusa Dua beaches are ok but not amazing. Kutta is full of ozzie surfers and waves are rough. Thailand Beaches are better - Ko Tao - beaches are exceptional and the beaches along the Queensland Coast and some of the Islands in the Whitsundays are amazing.
