every thing stopped people listening to radio in work or going to betting shop to watch ,if you were not fortunate enogh to have the day off ..

its just the big saturday race now
excitement started building long before day of race and no one missed it because it was about the most prestigious race in the world now it struggles to give you three places The rest of the world have better races now while the BHA focus on attendance on the day |

And was on a wednesday I remember being at college and going to the car mechanics part to listen to the race in a old car with radio on, also got a gnosh of lass from hair and beauty in same motor few weeks later those were the days.
