Just received a flier from these two promising riches. I recall they both operated in the 80s on a Saturday double basis without great success. Anybody had any recent dealings with them ?

No doubt another new poster will come along soon to tell us they're top notch.

I had a mailshot from them (him) about a year ago, it's at the recycling plant now, probably best place for it.

got one from colin davey the other day and bob rothman with the same old sh!t adverts from the 80's

they are probably preying on the unfortunate OAPs with dementia

Davey must spend a fortune

I used Rothman back in the 80's for about 9 months, most of the tips were for
Ian Campbell/Ross Campbell All Weather hurdlers. Had about 10 winners on the bounce
then about 15-20 losers on the bounce.

I remember a double with Wiltoski and Soda Popinski - got 12's - 16s on both of them
ended up about 7-2 I think, both won by half the track.

Does the recent upsurge in tipster spam and flyers mean the people who went to prison have made a daring breakout (or possibly been released on licence)?
Report Arklearkle May 19, 2015 2:45 PM BST
They dont even bother changing their names - no shame.

ALAN CARFAX address was a po box in West Sussex I think

Early to mid 80s.
Full page advert every week on the back of the Weekender.
Ten pound for 4 weeks with a free Ascot treble thrown in .
First week Horse called Barula won at 9/4 plus a non runner.
Then came the ascot treble.
Three of Henry Cecils.
Water Cay ,Fauatus and Grand Pavois I think were the three.
All three won I think it was an 84 /1 treble.
I Was only young at the time and thought fckk mw I will never have to work.
Paid up for a year within a few days.
Jesus, dont think he gave more than 10 winners in the whole year mostly odds on shots.

After The Alan Carfax Bollox was finished.

MARTIN  WELLS address was a po box in ST Leonards I think

Not much to say about him apart from he was just as ****.

Havent heard of any of them for at least 20 years.

Do yourself a favour and stay away.

Captain Alan Carfax -  was probably advertising tips when the likes of Steve Donoghue was Champion jockey. Grin
Report Arklearkle May 19, 2015 3:09 PM BST
Carfax may have been advertising in the old Handicap Book in the 1960s

not long since watched a repeat of Minder, think that one or the other was tipping in that episode. Or perhaps that was the Major?
