Bill O'Gorman's catastrophic training decline was due to his unwavering belief in daughter Emma's prowess as a jockette, unfortunately Johnny Murtagh seems hellbent on the same suicidal route. Daughter Caroline has just given Duca Valentinois (7.15 Killarney) the most inept ride I have ever seen.

Emma O'Gorman rode very successfully for several years as a professional jockey riding nearly 150 winners and being leading girl rider twice.
Working for her father in Newmarket since a young age has enabled her to gain invaluable experience in breaking yearlings and handling 2-year-olds. After all, during his training career, Bill O'Gorman was probably the best 2-y-o trainer around, and now that he's semi-retired his help and advice is always there when needed. |

cheers delta obviously he hasnt, did see a yard when i was down there that a trainer was in the process of purchasing and was under the impression it was his.

Agree with OP. I always like to watch a race when a thread like this pops up. Young Miss Murtagh was never in control.Make note of this horse when ridden by a more competent jockey!

Wasn't it really just a case of Bill O'Gorman having his heyday with some decent but not outstanding 2YOs in the 80s and none of them were ridden by Emma anyway and by the time she was getting the rides that heyday had past.
