Almost 50% of votes in England were for the Conservatives. Very few people outside of very large cities voted Labour which tells you something. The 36% figure includes Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. There is a case for PR in the sense that people get a representative but you end up with a coalition that never makes decisions.

Lest we forget, in 2004, she was amongst those who were captured on camera signing in for the day at the Euro parliament then leaving the building, so qualifying for her £175 a day allowance on top of her then £70k a year salary. She was also censured for the 'junket' to Barbados to discuss world poverty issues!

As for that odious man Kinnock, he secured his part in the gravy train after being appointed as a European Commissar in the 90s, forced to resign in 1999 he buddied up to Prodi and was selected again. What did he do during his time? He spent his 5 years (until 2004) introducing regulations that cut the benefits of anyone joining after 2004.

When finished as a Commissar he then (having been a huge critic of said establishment) joined the House of Lords. Hypocrisy? I think so.

Don't forget his role in sweeping under the carpet the auditor's qualification of the accounts and basically forcing her to resign for highlighting the lack of controls over spending....absolutely rancid individual and i just hope i'm still alive when he passes on so i can break open a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Kinnock without doubt the best PM this country never had in my lifetime. If only more could be so upright, honourable and passionate.
