Yet Mr Rust and co will have you believe the game is in excellent health and that attendances and the number of owners and racehorses in training are going to be increased. Like a bunch of ostriches choking in the sand.

the game is in the rudest of health, I know that 'cos the BHA recently said so. Apparently the jumpers not quite so healthy but they have put on 4 NH meetings today ( it is May Mr Rust ) but a bit disappointing we can't have one of the a/w meetings on as well.

A card at Chelmsford City this evening would have finished off the day nicely and created a few of those raceclashes we all like so much.

THE CROWDS WILL CONTINUE TO DECLINE AT CHESTER AS LONG AS THE CURRENT GREEDY MANAGEMENT ARE IN CONTROL!

The pricing policy does seem to be to stick the price up year after year, despite being zero inflation, and slowly watch the crowd and the number of bookmakers dwindle away.

Very difficult to enjoy yourself when you cant move, cant have a piss without queing for 10 minutes ,cant get change from £20 for 4 drinks cant get any decent food for less than a tenner and have to pay £30 to do so.
On top off this the best view is from the walls outside, which costs nothing. Its not just Chester though they are all greedy Bastards if you ask me. |

Half empty today - at first I put it down to it being ED (though no logic in that) but if yesterday was the same then perhaps the 'cult course' bubble is starting to burst. Must say, it was unexpected and there was hardly anyone the 18 -29 age range. Perhaps the legacy of an emerging generation brought who link betting foremost with footy.

Tatts were £35 yesterday, the view from the stand stops at the corporate tents apart from on the roof, the "big" screens are tiny for some reason, its £4.70 for a pint....
