did everything wrong in a 1 mile 2f maiden

for an experienced jockey that was a disgrace
Report Nonaynever April 29, 2015 2:39 PM BST
Yes, should have jumped the one in front of him.
Report beggarsbelief April 29, 2015 2:40 PM BST
dreadful but I think the current jocks are a poor bunch in comparison to what went before.

Shocker of a ride....poor jockey
Report howard April 29, 2015 2:41 PM BST
Havlin is bad compared with any era
Report RUSSJR April 29, 2015 2:41 PM BST
Average at best jockey
Report sageform April 29, 2015 2:42 PM BST
On a par with Willie TD yesterday. Not sure Havlins horse would have won anyway, but still a daft ride. Jockeys on short priced favs seem to think they will get an easy passage but the other jockeys are ganging up on them as they have every right to do.
Report throwthetellyoutawindow April 29, 2015 2:43 PM BST
By far the best horse on the day finished 2nd thanks to a poor ride from R Havlin a name that keeps poppin up in" bad rides" threads.
Report ab----t April 29, 2015 2:43 PM BST
Hostage to fortune from the off. Obviously didn't want to lead/maybe orders, horse was keen, another jock legitimately kept him boxed. What was he supposed to do?
Report Keefter April 29, 2015 2:44 PM BST
if they could start that race again but you get Buick instead of Havlin then what price the fav?
Report rewired April 29, 2015 2:44 PM BST
that was just too bad for words
should have won doing handsprings
outsider winning says it all........
worst ride i have seen for a long while.....

Dictate the pace ridden from the front last time,no?

atr,ruk just paper over the cracks.....

'Till later today no doubt (needs to be) rewired.
Report denathorn April 29, 2015 2:46 PM BST
It was a dreeadful ride, but the winner is a better horse and will only get more superior to the runner up.
Report aberdonia April 29, 2015 2:46 PM BST
**** happens.
Report ab----t April 29, 2015 2:47 PM BST
The only way other than leading on a very keen horse was to walk out of the stalls and go right around the field. But as I say the horse was too keen to make any other manoeuvre than the one he took from the stalls impossible.
Report aberdonia April 29, 2015 2:48 PM BST
the claimer on Frontier shows you how to do it.Excited

best horse in the race makes all.
Report torabora April 29, 2015 2:49 PM BST
seriously. Can't make excuses for Havlin.
Report ab----t April 29, 2015 2:50 PM BST
Havlin wanted to be where Murphy was but Murphy had already taken that ground.

It was more an unfortunate ride than a bad one. Happens every day and has always happened.
Report torabora April 29, 2015 2:54 PM BST
It was indeed unfortunate, but he allowed himself to remain in a bad position for far too long. Good tactical ride by Murphy.
Report TiptheOdds April 29, 2015 2:57 PM BST
stepping up in trip, as second jockey he would have been under orders to hold it up and get it to settle - the problem nowadays is there is seldom a decent pace and easy to get stuck in traffic. Even with a reasonable pace the pacemaker would have fallen away earlier and given the fav space to come through. having said all that I think the best horse won comfortably.
Report ab----t April 29, 2015 2:59 PM BST
Put yourself in a car on the inside lane of a motorway behind a lorry, with another lorry slowly overtaking the both of you. No chance of getting out until the overtaking lorry is past you.
Report Deltâ April 29, 2015 3:00 PM BST
wouldn't have won anyway - best horse in the race still won  ...

Give it a rest will you please.

Report torabora April 29, 2015 3:06 PM BST
Poor analogy. Cars and lorries? Huge difference in size exacerbates the perceived difficulty of the task. He could force his way through - as many jockeys do. It's not as if the stewards would do anything.
Report pablo-fanque April 29, 2015 3:08 PM BST
i agree torabora, he should have said " if you were behind a caravan , with a bus overtaking you "
Report torabora April 29, 2015 3:10 PM BST
And you were on a tricycle....
Report stridingedge April 29, 2015 3:10 PM BST
OT

A head carriage like that would usually be very off putting

You can't say the horse isn't trying though in it's runs so far.
