just re-watched...did run on well late but was hard ridden from after 3 out...not an obvious one to me.

Nothing to see , horse was ridden over 3 out ran on well from the last but everything bar the winner was stopping

Newcomer High Tail It really caught the eye when flying home to take the runner-up spot, with King Willie a further length and three quarters back in third.
The uneasy 8/13 favourite Unic De Bersy was driven along before the straight and could only manage fourth. The stewards took a dim view of the performance of the runner-up, and took action under Rule 212. The Milan gelding was suspended for 42 days, rider Mark Bolger was given a seven days ban and ordered to forfeit his riding fee, while trainer Jessica Harrington was fined 1,000 euro. |

i only watched the finish on atr site..and from 3 out was being ridden and stayed on well late on...i'll watch it all shortly and report back

Having just watched it again imo...he had it held up in rear travelling ok...after 3 out and coming round bend he was was riding it from before 2 out until the run in where it took off last 100yds...ive seen a lot lot worse and im suprised by the stewards decision.

probably depends how much you lost on it. wazza clearly lost feck all (nothing to interest his back and lay style in that particular heat), everyone else on this thread is having beans on toast for tea.

whether i won or lost hulk i'd still give an unbiased opinion...like i said ive seen a lot worse go unchecked.

you didn't win or lose because you didn't play in the race. winner won by a mile, no photo for you to play about with. leaving you only the 50/1 shot that fell or the 100/1 shot that ran out to suck any life out off. and even then you'd have to have been at the track. which you ain't .....

Now't to see, an appeal will over turn it. I could list 20 other jp horses who's rides were far less vigorous than that in the last 6 months alone.

well im in ireland.i watch and attend racing regularly.i feel this was harsh.as rioda says it was hard ridden and stayed on past beaten horse..far worse every day on the gaff sand tracks..

Led and disputed, close 2nd before 2nd, not fluent 5th, led from next, pressed closely 2 out, soon ridden and extended advantage before last where in command, not extended and eased close home, comfortably (op 9/2 tchd 5/1) 2nd 4¾ lengths High Tail It (IRE) 14/1 4-10-10 Mrs John Harrington Mark Bolger Held up towards rear, no impression after 3 out, some headway in moderate 10th approaching straight, ran on well in 9th from before last, nearest finish, not trouble winner ANALYSIS A race that we´re likely to look back on for a little while, with the winner scoring despite looking far from straightforward, a runner-up that came from nowhere and a disappointing odds-on favourite. It had a little bit of everything. VOISEY´S BAY made much of the running in landing this. He´s a headstrong sort, ran off the bend as they went out on the final circuit, and just [b]looked a difficult ride. Roger Loughran did well to keep him together as well as he did but the horse´s jumping was a major weapon too. An awkward ride, but a horse with a fair engine that can gallop and jump. If he learns to settle a bit better he could be a good horse. High Tail It was a serious eyecatcher, at least in the manner in which he came home, so much so that he earned a 42-day ban from the stewards´, with the trainer being fined E1,000 and the rider being banned for seven days. He was settled out the back, he was well off the pace and was being encouraged along by Mark Bolger as they turned for home, and he really flew home from the last under not much more pressure than he was under to get closer before the straight. He could well be a short enough price when he runs next and that will tell more about him. King Willie has a mark of 95 and that wouldn´t show the form of this race in a terrific light, he´s the main fly in the ointment. He stayed on from the last and was nearest at the finish. It would have to go down as an improved display. |

It was a maiden hurdle,for which it tends for to be for owners day out and nothing to harm the horse,gambling on maidens is pure fun.

I thought it looked far worse than it actually was. The speed it finished was what drew one's attention to the performance. Was being niggled during race and it was only when the penny dropped the eyes were drawn to it. I too have seen far worse. Very annoying though to someone with money on it when it would have won in a few more strides.
