Sad but so typical of present day management thinking.. Surely the solution would have been to offset the costs against Betfairs overall profits (where they originated from )...then it becomes a blip, rather than linking it to timeform where the costs no doubt  make it a rather larger and substantial cost. It was a very very good service...and a great aid if you were on the move or away from a TV....Great Shame...

pat, Betfair own Timeform, therefore the costs were already offset against Betfair's profits.

Blimey that's come out of the blue;i have it on most afternoons. First they closed the Racing Club ;now the radio station...obviously a result of being a public quoted company and the perceived need to cut costs.

Very disappointing news. Great service. Enjoyed listening to it daily. great presenters and analysts. Hope the contributors can set up something themselves somehow as a bad waste of talent if not. David johnson, J Lynch, D barber etc knew there stuff. Pity

real shame they are no longer had no idea they were closing. whats the best alternative? just listened to racing fm and they were about 30 seconds behind.

The new service is bound to be a long way behind if it is studio based commentary. Sportslive actually shut down over three years ago (to be replaced by the same lot that are in the TF Radio slot).

Dudders was fantastic. Loves the game and knew his stuff. Sickened its gone. Always worth a listen. Different level to its rivals
