Report spyker April 11, 2015 4:41 PM BST

Report Latalomne April 11, 2015 4:44 PM BST
Still being assessed according to RUK
Report Steamship April 11, 2015 4:44 PM BST
He is still being assessed
Report RichBoy April 11, 2015 4:46 PM BST
gd question, but i cant make a statement like that and change just because the horse somehow luckily survived. I cant i didn't enjoy it. i was on edge of my seat in a bad way, i love my horse racing. That canal turn has always been extremely dangerous. I have to stick to my statement that i can not support the race any further
Report Jezebel April 11, 2015 5:02 PM BST
Possibly not out of the woods yet; Richard Hoiles just reported BK is *still* on the course being assessed by vets.
Report RichBoy April 11, 2015 5:03 PM BST
ill go mad and complain to channel 4 if they've said he's ok when he's not.
Report RichBoy April 11, 2015 5:03 PM BST
An obvious publicly stunt if thats the case
Report liberator of the oppressed April 11, 2015 5:05 PM BST
Eye it moves us all. Lot of **** and vitriol on here but clear we all love our horses. Couldn't agree with you more best news of the day by far. Hip hip hurrah.
Report Steamship April 11, 2015 5:05 PM BST
Now I read that he has a couple of broken ribs but is ok
Report duncan idaho April 11, 2015 5:06 PM BST
publicity stunt? it's madness in winners enclosure after Nash..they're doing live tv..they may have been premature in saying he was ok when he was only upright but publicity stunt is ridiculous
Report Slicer April 11, 2015 5:07 PM BST
Broken ribs can be allowed to heal. Broken legs cannot! Let's hope that the horse is fine.
Report duncan idaho April 11, 2015 5:07 PM BST
we'll take a broken rib or 2..i've had them..good old Balthazar
Report Jezebel April 11, 2015 5:09 PM BST
They first reported he was up and being assessed; they then further reported he was still on the course being assessed.  They didn't have to add the update if it was just about spin.  I think when it was said he was up, the not-unnatural assumption would be that he was fine, had just been winded by Ballycasey hitting him and that he would walk away.  Clearly it's proving not to be as straightforward as that, but I doubt there was any deliberate intention to mislead.  Fingers crossed he is truly okay.

i meant as in saying every horse was ok, when they clearly weren't. It shouldn't of been said. Horse is still on the track. I meant as in everyone will go away saying all the horses are ok and 95 % of people wouldn't no thats not the case

Report BB MP April 11, 2015 5:13 PM BST
Canal Turn has always been an issue for me ever since we lost The Last Fling there. It's the only fence that forces horses to bottleneck together on the inside of the track and any faller is always at major risk of getting trampled. Whilst it's a famous fence, I wouldn't mind if it was altered so that it wasn't 90 degrees and therefore being on the inside wasn't as necessary.
Report RichBoy April 11, 2015 5:13 PM BST
and anyway as we all have said lets just hope he truly is ok

totally agree

Report Jezebel April 11, 2015 5:27 PM BST
Latest update: very sore but seems okay; has been moved to the racecourse stable yard and remains under vet observation/assessment.
Report miscreant man April 11, 2015 5:31 PM BST
Great news. I walked to that spot to watch the race  and the cries as the screens were up after the race was over were haunting.
Report sixtwosix April 11, 2015 5:34 PM BST
Slipped into the fence , must have winded the horse , then hit by another ......lets hope he is fine.
Report Duncster April 11, 2015 5:35 PM BST
Ruby's ride slammed into him
Report Latalomne April 11, 2015 5:39 PM BST
Possible broken ribs.
Report flux April 11, 2015 5:40 PM BST
Possible broken ribs they just said on RUK but guess we will know more later, glad he got up though looked really bad.
Report cricketnut2 April 11, 2015 5:41 PM BST
Lets hope he survives and is able to recover.
Report BarryM April 11, 2015 5:46 PM BST
I think the recent measures to try and reduce risk by removing the drops make this sort of accident much more likely. When there were big drops on the inside only the very best jumpers dared go there, so the field was more spread. Now everything wants to cut the corner.

It's one of those things though, jump racing is risky, it always will be. I hope the horse is OK. Very surprising it was him, he'd have probably been the one I'd have picked as the biggest certainty to complete.
Report cricketnut2 April 11, 2015 5:57 PM BST
That is great news.
