that horse has always been a right monkey
By:
are you allowed to keep elbowing the other jockey?
By:
got to keep that race
By:
body language of deliberate interference in my eyes.
By:
Oh, he meant it alright.
By:
surely town mouse would not have won there...fraud
By:
sound ride doesn't have to give ground to one moving up the inner when racing room was minimal,Goldstein hoping the winner moved off and Skelton does nowt wrong.
By:
Makes a mockery of stewards if he keeps it
By:
The horse was dodging. Jockey done everything he could and the rail coming out didnt help. No doubt best horse won as had it not been dodging it would have won by a few lengths. If the rail hadnt been there the result would have been the same imho. Keeps the race.
By:
No, that's the body language of a jockey riding to stop another horse winning.
By:
Goldstein shoved have challenged around Skelton, caused his own probs trying to be cute. Should have been put over the rail approaching the last!
By:
should not shoved
By:
Left hand down all the way up the run in, and before the last really. Jock made absolutely no effort to keep his horse off the runner up.
Idiotic M Chapman says its the course layouts fault. Keeping a line adjacent to the rail is the correct line. Skelton just went the shortest way he could with no regard to where the runner up was. |
By:
both should get disqualified and a 1000 should win lmao
By:
He was yanking the horse's head to the left to get him to close off the ground of his rival. What's that if it isn't deliberate interference?
By:
Jock made no effort to keep his mount from 2nd on purpose
By:
Skelton was aiming his mount and the rest of his body at the other. I layed the fav so no matter to me.
By:
that is called race riding
By:
any where else in the world that would get thrown out...very noble clearly the best horse in the race and would have won if not hampered
By:
I doubt it.
By:
very surprised if he keeps it. The second would get the race on appeal for certain.
By:
Last message was for PH Godsend!
By:
i know...just adding my 2 pence piece hehe
By:
how long do they want to take ffs
By:
Goldstein didn't have to be so cute, caused his own probs. No self respecting jockey is going to give you that rail run on that run in. Should think himself lucky he got to the line in one piece.
By:
Why should Goldstein have challenged around the winner when it was the winner's jockey deliberately turning his horse's head to steer into the 2nd and cut off his run, and all the time using his whip in the wrong hand too?
The winning jockey knew he would be beaten unless he stopped the 2nd from winning and even got in so tight as to stop Goldstein being able to use his own whip effectively too, so that's what he did and should be banned and thrown out for doing so. |
By:
True PH. Goldstein would surely have won had he come wider.
By:
There was room for goldstein, he went for the gap, got into it, and then skelton tried to carve him up. Sort of ride should lose the race even if he ends up winning by a neck.
By:
Runner up jumped level at the last. He wasn't trying to pinch any ground he was already there !
By:
town mouse keeps the race
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
of course its race riding ERS, Skelton held his ground and perhaps tightened it up. If that was AP or Piggott everyone would be amazed Goldstein had the nerve to try for that run.
By:
MARKET SETTLED...TOWN MOUSE WINS
By:
ged: If you yank a horse's head to the left, it will go to its right. They are not made of elastic.
If you don't believe me, watch the replay for any horse who gets the comment "hung right" or "edged right" and look at its head carriage. |
By:
Skelton probably gets a few days holiday, crap rules.
By:
Just my opinion PH. I reckon he got annoyed at Goldsteins cheek and made sure he drove him into the rail.
By:
Totally certain they will get the race on appeal. Bumped 4 times, whip in the wrong hand and beaten the minimum distance.
Very poor decision. |
By:
Goldstein wasn't looking to be "given" the rail, it was there to take but wouldn't have been if Skelton had taken it but he didn't, meaning Goldstein was entitled to take it considering there was plenty of room to if Skelton had only held his ground, except he didn't and deliberately steered into Goldstein to cut him off.
That's not race riding, that's unfairly doing all you can to stop another horse from winning. |
By:
didn't have an interest in the finish but if I owned or trained the winner then he did what he is being paid for. Runner up never hit the front and may well have been intimidated but we race under British rules and Skelton was very professional in his finish.
By:
They don't throw them out anymore do they?
