I backed it and the wrong didn't want to know. Not AP's fault

Thought Ruby was different gravy there

19 times Champion Jump Jockey............That's 19.... Acclaimed by all in the game
And a numptie on here says he is inept. This place really is laughable |
By:
obviously all his wins were bumpers and hurdles
![]() |
By:
his timing over any obstacle is in the main......... poor

100% correct TRD.Racing.

the man is a genius-the horse is not .
ruby was brilliant grabbed the race by the scruff of the neck. |

By:
Presumably he's being SOMETHING right all these years although from the garbage on here you'd hardly think it....

By:
awful ride....poor timing at early fences yet again....whenever he asks one up they nearly always put down
By:
Gave that a shocker
By:
Got to agree broadsword
By:
The end of April cant come quick enough, for him to retire..........
By:
AP is strong and brutal, you had at least 16 fences to compare and contrast jockey styles there, Fehily never out of sync with SC and must have gained 10 lengths over AP out in the country who got in close too how many?
By:
Guy on Setanta, obviously afraid to upset the love in by naming names, just said 'I can't understand why they're spreading so wide on a sharp track like Aintree'. Couldn't agree more.
By:
AP lost 1-3 lengths at every fence or are some of you so blind that you cannot see.....
AP is like a good go cart rider that bombs at the F1 tracks. His average of 1 Cheltenham winner a year for the last 8 years is laughable with the calibre of OSS he has ridden. Today he is laughable again. Even APs acclaimed rides Witcheta and Syncronised only won in spite of him...they outstayed others despite blundering around. Both died on their next run. Keep backing on here though.....you are bound to win with the Champ |
By:
Totally overrated and utterly overhyped.
Will be a massive relief when he retires. |
By:
Yeah it was obvious after a few furlongs that he was asking the horse for way too much. And why? Why do you need a big jump 4 furlongs into a 25furlong race when you are travelling in 2nd place? Why do you keep asking for big jumps all the way round?
Seriously stupid. McLernon would surely have nursed that home. |
By:
this thread shud be dated 1st april
and i backed hargam and holywell have some respect and enjoy his last few days as you won't see another |
By:
This forum always good for a giggle. Astonishing how betfair forumites know more about horse racing than trainers, jockeys and pundits. Truely amazing.

Respect? This is the real World where bread on the table comes via a commodity called money. High level sport at the top end. It's a ruthless and competitive World we live in. When a professional makes blatant errors they are of course open to criticism. Why should AP or anyone else be exempt?
Great jock and a great servant to the game. An incredible character for sure. I wouldn't worry about him though and if he is getting enough respect or not. AP is fine. Loads of money & loads of praise after getting the max from his talent. Fair play and best of luck to him. But when he rides like a clown then it is to be expected that at least some will point it out. |
By:
JP McManus is as ruthless and competitive as they come and yet he lets AP ride his horses. Confusing eh?
By:
so hes a great jock and also completely inept?
of course he has some bad rides, they all do |
By:
apologies gamerawins wasn't you that called him inept
By:
That was a poor ride there by AP, wouldn't be that critical of the Hargam ride though.
By:
The same JP is, by his own admission, barely break even over a lifetime of gambling.
I can assure you there are many much better gamblers around than McManus, gamblers who know a lot more about the game than he does. |
By:
Know it isn't fences in the next but I get the impression that he doesn't get on that well with Jezki and the horse much prefer having Barry on board.
By:
before riding certain types of races you need to do your homework, you cant allow a horse like SC to lead in a race such as this, had AP ridden Holywell from the front i believe that would probably have sorted out his jumping, in the gold cup at cheltenham his jumping was fine, and that was at a frenetic pace.
By:
If i was a racehorse i would prefer many other riders over AP.
His forcefulness has rewarded him many winners but also many losers. |
By:
totally agree
good jockey just not my fav |

Ruby in last flight shocker!!!

Over he goes again...but he slammed his helmet down so that disguises it
..AP has had some real bad days at big festivals but for the lucky winner this would cop the lot |
