ONLINE bookmaker 666bet have had their operating licence suspended while the Gambling Commission undertake a review into the company.
The review has been instigated as the Commission suspect that Metro Play Limited (the licensee) is unsuitable to carry on the licenced activities. Customers looking to bet with the Isle of Man-based 666bet are greeted with a message on the website that reads: "We will be performing maintenance for the next couple of hours so that our engineers can work to improve your player experience. "We apologise for the inconveniences caused but we will be back as soon as possible with better services for you." 666bet have made big strides since being formed last year, as the official sponsor of Leyton Orient football club, and betting partner of West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City. Their advertising campaign featuring former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp and Nicky Henderson was screened during Channel 4's coverage of the Cheltenham Festival. |

Withdrew all funds from this outfit last Saturday. Just checked....funds haven't reached my account. Basturds! Looks as though their Cheltenham promotion of £100 in free bets for new and existing customers was planned with a view to doing a 'runner'. I wouldn't have opened an account with them but for their convincing tv adverts involving Harry Redknapp. Wonder how much he has creamed out of 666?

Don't ignore Henderson's role in the ad.

All customers will be paid any outstanding withdrawals and balances please be assured. Apologies for the inconvenience and lack of info 1/2
from their twitter account |

Obviously hope their Twitter message is genuine but I don't recall any bookmakers in the past refunding customer's cash after their website has effectively disappeared into cyberspace.

666 was a clue.

By:
Have the gone bankrupt or just had licence suspended?

Henderson should be charged with bringing racing into disrepute for associating himself with these people...can you imagine what his owners think. A huge mistake to be connected to Redknapp let alone 666.

It's always worth risking your cash for an extra point or two.

So Henderson and Redknapp are responsible for running this bookmaker's business are they?
Makes you wonder how they ever found the time to run a training yard and manage a football team really. |
By:
I merely asked the question King of Dubai but do find it a little amusing that there are actually people out there silly enough to think anyone who takes a company's advertising fee is somehow responsible for the running of that business and to blame if it goes belly up. Yet apparently I'm the daft one here.
There must be a sh1tland or 70s and 80s celebrities from the Woolworth's Christmas TV adverts feeling a bit guilty now then eh? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hopefully the winner of a greyhound race sponsored by this firm at Sittingbourne and shown on Sky TV last night gets paid.

doubt that - the owner of the dog will probably be jailed for advertising unlicensed gambling

If people have been fleeced by this lot I sincerely hope their cheques to Happy Harry and Chemical Nicky have bounced. I somehow doubt it though.

So Henderson and Redknapp are responsible for running this bookmaker's business are they? Makes you wonder how they ever found the time to run a training yard and manage a football team really. The point is that there are certain people out there that would sell their rear end to make a few quid.. A certain "Champion Jockey" springs to mind.. Whatever happened to principles... |
By:
in fairness they have done wot any unsuspecting person would also do....life goes on.
By:
Yep. But if a lot of small punters have lost out will Harry and Nicky give back their no doubt substantial fees.
If not I know what I will think of them. |
By:
why would they give back their fee?
By:
because they have money and small punters dont? bit unfair that imo
By:
It actually seems reasonable to me as these multi-millionaires should surely accept they have helped to draw people in. It's about time people were prepared to accept responsibility for their actions.
By:
merely paid for doing a commercial bit harsh to suggest they are at fault for anything else.
By:
Sorry but I honestly think if you are being paid because of who you are to entice people to part with their money and the whole thing turns out to be dodgy I think you should consider your position and not just waltz off with into the sunset with your bulging wallet. No doubt I am old-fashioned.

Well I can`t speak for you dealer, but I wouldn`t advertise credit cards, loan sharks, etc etc or bookies - especially one that no one knows anything about. It`s not as if they need the money. They don`t think of possible consequences. Only interested in themselves.
