so many is a sad indication of where the sport is - these are the muppets entrusted to make racing entertaining - there is no hope.

Oh and Fitz is really terrible - and if they can't see that then it really is the end.

Dave Orton is a good shout. Speaks utter bilge. Also any Timeform expert.

They hype up the top rated if it wins - even if they haven't tipped it - or justify why the top rated got beat with the safety net of a 'p' or a horse in focus. More bites of a cherry than a cake maker.

Perhaps the use of the word "pundit" in the op's subject, has meant that Thommo is getting an easy ride here ?

dead heat Zoey,Yates and Doyle (haven't seen him so maybe he was found out) in which case I'll throw in Dougie. Lazy pundits no preparation just reading aloud the RP and they always pick the jolly. Or the 2nd Fav is an e/w bet to nothing. I know its best to keep things simple and uncomplicated but we all know what their picks will be and one wonders if they get a bung from the High St the more jollies they talk up get beaten. Similar to how the RM's at BAGS tracks got weighed in on the number of beaten Favs each month, not sure if that practice still exists.

don't think i've ever backed a horse on one of the so called pundits say so but listening to Mapletoft when he's talking about Southwell, i find myself disagreeing with just about everything he says.

stu,I watch the coverage RUK,ATR and CH 4 without sound and have done for about 4 years. I only want the pics not the peripheral garbage. I couldn't name the more recent pundits, when I last chose to listen they were using Doyle, Zoey, Hammond and McNae not all pundits but they were seemingly having the shows built around them. I could listen to Pat Murphy, Mellish and even Lydia but generally they regurgitate the Spotlight. As I can read I know the general views in advance of the start of racing. Introduce a red button for pics of the parade ring, canter down and the race. I'll pay £25 a month for that. The High St won't subsidise such an option because of lack of advertising and the loss of pundit bombardment with the jollys.
