The entire table that I was on either backed Duelling Banjos or Red Devil Star. Not one of us or a single person in the restaurant, which was packed, shouted Chic Theatre home. A very enjoyable day nonetheless and between us we had the placepot up multiple times but the dividend was unsurprisingly low, only £11.20. A good days sport was had by all and it was a highly enjoyable afternoon and although I ended up down it was only the expenses that caused that, punting was levels you devils. Musn't grumble really.

Slippy - I backed Red Devil Star too, in an exacta with D/Banjos. I was in the paddock for the bumper, and the latter is a very nice big type and they were generally a nice bunch, particularly for a Plumpton bumper. Up the Junction looked a nice big type for the future, although I doubt he was helped by the yard being in dire form. Red Devil Star may well turn out to be better than today as he spread a plate and got a bit worked up in the farrier's box.
Hope you enjoyed your lunch - I had a bowl of Alice's noodles and a pint of stout in the sunshine

Lots of folks were scoffing the noodles blackbarn! The meal in the restaurant was really not too bad. Chicken Ceasar Salad, Roast beef with all the trimmings, a very decent cheeseboard and coffee for £42. Add to that a great table overlooking the parade ring and the staff were really attentive. Can't say fairer than that really.
If you kept your racecard then in pink there is a message to 'Princess Laura' on the second race. That's my niece and my bro got loads of brownie points for that effort ! She was the only one that actually won after having a tenner on Laughton Park and a tenner on Roberto Pegasus as well as having the placepot for 2 quid. The birthday girl done good

I didn't know Red Devil Star spread a plate by the way blackbarn, that puts me right off when that happens. Didn't matter really though as the winner hacked up.

Hi Slippy. Sounds like a great afternoon. I took my dad for his 80th, he backed four winners and still talks about "Sole with Salmon mousse"!!. Saw the message - presumably Lucy backed I'm Lucy.
Re RDS, the plate went between the stables and the parade ring and they shot him straight into the box. Re the winner; I agree! odd that it was well backed first time out, and then apparently friendless this time - although my mate backed it, £20 at 14's and then got cross because he'd missed the 16's in a place or two.

Yeah she did blackbarn, Lucy is my other niece, that's a tenner she'll never see again
I don't like backing horses that have spread a plate but really it was all about being a social occasion today so wasn't getting overly involved. Both bro and Anne are annual members at Plumpton and it's really easy to get to for me from Victoria and I do like the place. Maybe see you next time there for a pint.

Slippy - that would be nice. I love the place, proper little racecourse - I will be going to the end of Feb meeting and I expect to be in the restaurant for the pre Cheltenham meeting. Hope to see you.

You were missed bannahan! Another really decent crowd today, had a good group of lads on the way back sitting by us on the train to Victoria all on the Stella Express! I spoke to a couple of books on the way out and they both said the first winner Mollasses put them on the back foot straight away and they both broke even in the end.
