I thought that when I put a place bet on an 8 horse race 3rd place would still be paid even if a horse was withdrawn. I know that has been the case for years on the betfair market. Has this rule changed, and if so when??

see 12.7 in R&R, which states:
"Once opened, the number of winners in 'to be placed' markets (as set out in the Market Information) will not be affected by further non-runners. " |

What Longbridge said, but be aware that BF has been adding some "alternative" place markets which *may* (or may not) be where some confusion has arisen?
