Yes. Very bad. Just started today, been fine all week up to now. You can tell there's a problem because the live video also takes a long time to load (but is fine once it actually does).

crash imminent methinks
Report Latalomne February 5, 2015 2:06 PM GMT
Gruss has felt fine for me on the first two races....
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 2:06 PM GMT
Something seems to have been fixed as of right now. For me at least.
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:08 PM GMT
Yes pre race seems a little slicker in 2.05. We will see when it goes in play
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:09 PM GMT
Seemed a lot slicker at Taunton
Report Wesdag February 5, 2015 2:11 PM GMT
no probs here
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 2:13 PM GMT
It seems back to normal now. I expect something went wrong due to last night's maintenance as I only had problems from this morning onwards. tinytuco are you using VM as your ISP? Asking because last time there was a connection problem it was only VM users effected.
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:18 PM GMT
Yeah using VM, seems ok now though???
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:22 PM GMT
Correction not back ok, that wolves race was awful
Report Big Boss February 5, 2015 2:25 PM GMT
im on VM, awful here
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 2:27 PM GMT
Intersting. I am on VM too and had exactly the same experience: Terrible lag on site and API for 1335 and 1355. Then spontaneously resolves for 1405. 1420 onwards and it's back to extremely latency.
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:32 PM GMT
Anybody not on VM having problems?
Report Latalomne February 5, 2015 2:33 PM GMT
Still no problems for me on Zen.
Report Insanity Later February 5, 2015 2:33 PM GMT
I'm also on VM but haven't noticed any problems so far.
Report Princes Purple Guitar February 5, 2015 2:35 PM GMT
Virgin again ?
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 2:35 PM GMT
For the people not having problems: Are you actually using API software to refresh in real-time? Because normally I stream updates very smoothly at 0.2s refresh rate. It's trying to do that now, but I'm getting more like every 3 seconds. If I were placing bets on-site or not trading in-running I probably wouldn't notice either. But obviously there's a huge difference when it's normally instant.
Report Insanity Later February 5, 2015 2:43 PM GMT
Yep I'm using Gruss at 0.7 refresh and seems ok here.
Report nuthouse February 5, 2015 2:43 PM GMT
help desk did tweet me to say there were looking in to it but that was close an hour ago
Report Latalomne February 5, 2015 2:43 PM GMT
I'm refreshing every two seconds and the biggest difference I'm seeing with the actual refresh time is +/- 25ms.  I'm also betting in-running.
Report CDK February 5, 2015 2:48 PM GMT
Im on VM..using gruss...actual refresh keeps spiking to 900ms/3000ms, should be 200ms!
Report tinytuco February 5, 2015 2:55 PM GMT
Has anybody raised this with betfair support? Any idea what they are saying?
Report Insanity Later February 5, 2015 3:00 PM GMT
Yes I've been in touch with them. Told them not to change anything as mine's fine. Happy
Report Mully February 5, 2015 3:41 PM GMT
Normal site is slow
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 3:43 PM GMT
I phoned them, yes. He said he would raise it with the premium team. We know it's at least being looked into I suppose.
Report longbridge February 5, 2015 3:53 PM GMT
Looks like it's official:

Report nuthouse February 5, 2015 5:51 PM GMT
we need 9 more calls to virgin telling them about the api problem be4 they will look in to so get on the phone
Report milkbottle February 5, 2015 6:02 PM GMT
I phoned Virgin got the standard "not our fault, nothing we can do" line. This is exactly what happened when there was a problem for Virgin customers streaming the ATR live video. Betfair said "not our fault, Virgin said "not our fault" and the whole thing takes longer than it need be. Work together guys.

The unforuntate long-term view for me is that it's costing me far too much not to be able to trade reliably and it seems VM in particular just doesn't get on with Betfair so I'll now have to fork out for a 2nd line from another provider.
