If the forecast going of Soft as opposed to Heavy materialises at Leopardstown tomorrow, then I am convinced Jezki wins. I have no doubt whatsoever that given decent ground Jezki is the more talented of the pair and improves as Spring replaces Winter and Old Father Time  sends increasingly urgent messages to the Hurricane.
.
I'm lumping on big-time and am confident of retaining my 100 per cent Forum tipping success rate even though, alas, if realised, means the magnificent Fly's astonishing Leopardstown winning roll of honour comes to an end.

Whatever the outcome, we as NH punters are privileged to witness these two wonderful warriors duel once again.

May they both come home safe!

Just teasing Essex, looks like a great race in store. I have never warmed to HF, but am a backer tomorrow. As you say, hope all return well

AllinR1: remember the good 'uns tragically no longer with us  DawnRun, Bula, Lanzarote, Ekbalco - all died in combat for our entertainment! Danger increases as these noble warriors age - hope you want them  come home safe - otherwise stick to Virtual!

my mistake, It was really this bit I thought was a little OTT:

Whatever the outcome, we as NH punters are privileged to witness these two wonderful warriors duel once again.

Mind you, I wouldnt wish these 2 come home safe any more or less than any other racehorse.

my problem with this race
is jezki really there to win....
the number of jp horses out for a run, then aimed at chelts-i just cant trust jp horses full stop

so for me its a watch for cheltenham clues
i get the feeling the price on jezki tomorrow just before the off will be a big tell on its chance
i have been a massive fan of h/fly-but lets face it hes not getting any younger..........

shame faugheen not there to take them on or the new one
now that would be a race
not that it would ever happen...........

my idea of the race is that it is like a wedding with no bride.
Once again Cinderella is not allowed go to the ball for fear she may embarrass all the other invites.
And her real name says it all.LaughLaughLaugh

AllIn: point taken, I luv all the beasts irrespective of their ability, but as they get older and as some become legends they almost become part of the family and losing any of them like the Greats I mentioned I'm afraid I do get a bit sentimental.

At the prices I'm having a nice EW punt on Artic Fire . I've watched re-runs of the previous runs and it would only take a smidgen of improvement for it to beat the top two, so at 10/1 I'll throw a few bob at it and hopefully Towmend is level at the last and can take the prize. If he's a couple of lengths down coming to the last I'll try and get out.Excited

Brassneck: if Cinderella lost a shoe wouldn't this be detrimental to her chances of winning? And when Prince Willie went on his mission to find the owner of same shoe whose name would it be?

Retired: Understand why Faugheen not allowed to muddy the water but surely The New One given its last run, would have zero chance of winning tomorrow! What price would you put him in at?  I'd lay him at 8/1 tomorrow given last week's dismal effort.

GeorgeBakerFC: keep your money firmly in your pocket - only six runners and no way Arctic Fire can finish ahead of the big two.

TNO only ever does just enough. It's just the horse's way of going about things. I'm not entirely convinced that the horse will win a Champion Hurdle but I'd take every penny of the 8/1 you would offer were it to run tomorrow!

Can't oppose HF here. This is most likely his last win on a track that suits him better than Cheltenham.

Gentlemen,  the 8/1TNO refers not to Cheltenham in March but just to today's race where he would be up against two Leopardstown specialists and based on his poor run at Haydock a week ago. I would take issue with anyone thinks that was a measured winning performance from The New One - he jumped poorly and alarm bells rang loudly for practically the entire race. Add him to today's race and I would happily lay the 8's.

I’m with Hurricane Fly , one thing that helps edge it is my trainer and jockey ratings for Mullins and Walsh at the track vs Harrington and McCoy.

well if he was running today he wouldn't have run at haydock would he? and his trainer would have prepared him for a grade 1 instead of the mickey mouse haydock race

8-1    yes please Happy

ExcitedGot the place money but what a clown that Townend if he had been up with the leaders he would have had a much better chance instead of waiting behind two of the best horses in training.

Well done GB, hands up I got it wrong - brave bet with only 2 places. Not sure AP suits Jezki as was suggested by someone else earlier but even allowing for that last flight howler  the Fly would have won anyway.

AP made a similar mistake yesterday on Three Kingdoms in 12:55 Donc , but that was 3 out and managed to scrape home a win
