Its not so much he makes mistakes - he just doesnt get them over the line first when others probably would have.  Q...various saying he did nothing wrong etc, etc.

took it slightly easier at the last than he did at the previous two hurdles, just unlucky to come against a very game winner.

What did he do wrong please?

Id say ............just outstayed by the older horse in the ground......

The winner won a bumper last time out, koikeeper. It had proved it knew how to win a race. The favourite had never finished closer than 3rd in three runs in France. Who knows what it would find under pressure? Yet punters were prepared to pay to find out.

I'm not sure that negates the point koi.....

repeating myself he / the horse didnt do much obvioulsy wrong BUT as the jockey for the leading stable (which I doubt has dropped its fees for not having an elite jock) he doesn't add enough for imo.  His 1st to 2nds ratio particularly in hurdles suggests to me that he's doesn't win enough of the 50/50s. Might be meaningless but it reinforces an impression I /many get watching races like that. Look it up if you can be bothered, dull as it may.
