Tender ride from AP

Horse jumped the the all of them do when McCoy rides them.  The man cant see a stride and continually gets shown up in the bigger races.  The fawning over him by the media is nauseating.

First time over fences plus yard still to come outta the doldrums. Not entirely unexpected?

Obviosly it wasnt wanted but the he is shocking over hurdles and fences.  Watching him at Leopardstown at Christmas he looked like a 7 pound claimer!

Sorry, my comment was unclear. I was referring to those suggesting that McCoy can't ride rather than anything to do with that particular race.

Was just pointing out the style of ride it was clearly a smelly race but like some have mentioned it's interesting that the BHA continue to do nothing about it.  How is it McCoy can throw the kitchen sink at some but not at others.  I am not complaining as we are all aware that this goes on and have to factor it into any selections made.  Obviously many of you would not even be having a bet in the said mentioned race unless you was privy to some information.

This would suggest that all horses have to be ridden the same way which I would hope no-one really believes? he seems to ride the Ferguson horses for example much more quietly than some others it seems to me.

I can accept that sometimes he looks a little untidy (esp when compared with the likes of Walsh and Geraghty!) and even unsure when presenting his horses at obstacles but he doesn't seem to actually come off that often and for one prefer to have him on my side than the vast majority of other jocks.

All opinions of course but that is cushty cos that is what forums are about innit?

Adagio - that may well be the case and plenty on here will agree with it. But he can certainly throw the kitchen sink at some after riding the same horse quietly previously, it's usually when there has been the application of money for said beast. He's not allowed to be criticised or questioned though by anyone. Imagine the BHA banning him for a quiet ride, he's not an easy target so must be left to do as he pleases.
