HR Forum 2014 Matchplay Challenge: Round 1 Draw & Selections

2014 MATCHPLAY CHALLENGE

Winner's Purse: £150

Intended dates for each round:

First round: December 26th
Second Round: December 27th
3rd Round: December 28th
Quarter-finals: December 29th
Semi-finals: December 30th
Final: December 31st.

THE RULES

Please familiarise yourself with them and feel free to ask any questions if you're unsure about anything

1. A draw to determine who plays who will be made before each round.

2. Each player will receive a mythical £300 to place on 3 bets (£100 on each), they can be on horse racing and / or football.

3. ALL SELECTIONS MUST BE POSTED BY NOON FOR THAT DAY'S ROUND. Failure to do will result in elimination from the competition.

3. Only one selection per event - ie more than one horse cannot be selected in the same race, nor can more than one possible outcome be selected for a football match

4. Win and place bets on a horse will count as 1 bet, so for example, £50 EW or £30 win & £70 place.

5. UK & Irish horse racing only

6. MULTIPLE BETS ARE NOT PERMITTED

7. ALL 3 SELECTIONS MUST BE POSTED AT THE SAME TIME.

8. PLEASE ENSURE ALL 3 SELECTIONS ARE CLEARLY PRESENTED, AND FOR HORSE SELECTIONS INCLUDE THE RACE TIME AND MEETING, for example:

Bet 1: £100 on Man Utd @ 1.4 to win

Bet 2: £100 on Kauto Star, 3.30 Kempton

Bet 3: £80 place and £20 win Desert Orchid, 2.00 Kempton

9. Betfair odds will be used to settle bets, so if you're selecting a football bet, please state the odds. Racing bets will be settled at BFSP (no commission applied).

10. No duplicate selections, whoever takes the chance of showing their picks first, will have first choice. If an opponent then selects the same horse / football team, it will be settled as a loser, regardless of the outcome.

11. Non-runners: Please ensure your selections are still intended runners at the time of posting, especially on boxing day when horses may have first and second preferences. Times of withdrawals will be checked on the BHA website.
If a horse's 2nd preference is selected, but the horse runs in the first preference race, the selection will be settled as a loser. Please check before posting.

Reserves are permitted but must be clearly stated.

12. In the event of a tie, up to and including the quarter-finals, the competitor whose 3 selections have the highest average odds, will go through.

In the unlikely event of a tie that can't be settled using highest average BF odds, whoever took the chance of posting first will go through.

For the semi-finals and final, in the event of a tie, there will be a replay, with the final put back if necessary.

13. The odds from football bets must be easily checked, therefore football bets are restricted to the following:

UK Football
Major European Tournaments Leagues.

14. If neither player turns up for a match, or for whatever reason, both players are eliminated from the competition (eg they posted their selections after noon), in order to to ensure there are the correct number of players going through to the next round, the highest scoring loser(s) will qualify.

15. In the event of a dispute, I will ensure that fair play and common sense prevails, therefore my decision will be final.

16. The rules that appear on the seperate selection thread are final.
