racingstar, is you're going to criticise a jockey, at least have the decency to give a couple of examples with explanations of her "average riding", otherwise you sound just like those pocket talkers you're so fond of calling pricks!

You're the one who has posted on a public forum that you think she is "average at best", so the onus is one you to give examples of what you mean with explanations, otherwise it's just guff.

George, What Planet do you live on? She is average and gets the rides she deserves. How does anybody demonstrate an average ride. It is for you to demonstrate that she is "top drawer",you silly little man.

Backed into a corner, lacking the intellect to explain what you mean, you resort to name calling YET AGAIN.
It's simple, you're an ex-jockey / work rider, is that right?
So you pick out any 3 rides where you thought she was "average" and explain to someone like me, who's eager to learn (!) why she was average and what she did or didn't do. Simples!

George, You could not back anybody into a Car Park. If I called Luis Suarez an average footballer you could easily demonstrate otherwise. If I call Chris Smalling average I would have difficulty "proving" it. I am saying she is average. Are you saying she is Top drawer?

Now are you going to apologise to Hayley as you have been unable to prove that she is "average at best", that's what the forum really wants to know.

I've told you, you just give 3 examples of any of her rides, and explain how she was average, telling us what she did wrong.
If you can't do that, don't go round calling jockeys average.
You made a statement about a female jockey and have totally unable to back it up. Quite sad really...

You called Hayley an average jockey, and now you're asking us for an example ??
Perhaps, it is bedtime.
Give me an example of an average jockey.I think you've lost the plot here, racingstar. You called Hayley an average jockey, and now you're asking us for an example ??Perhaps, it is bedtime.
"I've told you, you just give 3 examples of any of her rides, and explain how she was average, telling us what she did wrong".
Therein lies your problem,George. You,for some strange reason seem to equate "average" with "doing something wrong". Game, set and match.

So does this mean that if Hayley got to ride good horses, she would be a good jockey, and not your unsubstantiated, average one ?
On this thread you say....She is average and gets the rides she deserves. On another thread...........Good horses make good Jockeys, imo. So does this mean that if Hayley got to ride good horses, she would be a good jockey, and not your unsubstantiated,
Well give us an example of something she didn't do that an above average jockey would have, to prove your point!

You're the only one judging jockeys here. This is a quite pathetic attempt to try and turn around an argument that you have clearly lost.
And what's with the "WFTer" ? Is this your attempt at humour. Don't you realise this kind of name calling belongs in a schoolyard ?

You made a sweeping statement about a female jockey without any foundation whatsoever. Asked to give examples of what you mean, you have totally failed to do so.
You own nobody, but you have made a total t!t of yourself on this thread.

Well if you don't know what you mean, and you have yet to produce a single example of an "average ride", then how is anyone else suppose to know what you mean?

George was the cretin that equated "average" with "making mistakes".
He didn't. You're the only one making judgements You're either deliberately lying, or completely deluded.
There is another option, of course, you could be both.

George, Here is an analogy for you;I am an "average"Club Snooker player who on a good day can make 40 to 50 breaks. If I play any professional I will be battered. Does this help you (a person of limited powers of reasoning)?

So when Hayley rode Margot Did and Dream Ahead to Group 1 victories against top notch pro jockeys, she was "battered" was she?
I wouldn't dig any deeper if I were you racingstar, you'll just embarrass yourself further (if that's possible given the shyte you've already posted on this thread).

i consider a reasonable description of an average ride is where the best horse wins despite the less than able assistance of the jockey; invariably a poor ride ican be described as where the best horse doesn't win as a result of the ineptitude of the man (or woman) in the saddle

Semantics, racingstar. I'll put it another way for you -
Give 3 examples of any of her rides, where she was average, explaining what could she could have done that would have made the rides above average.
Then you can start making a case for that sweeping statement you made, which as of yet, you have been unable to do. That's a polite way of saying you're full of shyte.

Racingstar, sitting at home like some keyboard warrior, packet of **** and an ashtray filled to overflowing on his right, empty bags of crisps and mars bars on the left. Sitting on a 1950's armchair with just an electric fire to heat his flat. Pretending he had a woman, watching some 1970's porn on his betamax.
Waiting for Friday to come around so he can claim his incapacity benefit and filling his time by pretending to be some 'star' on the horse racing front. Bank balance -£300, all credit cards maxed out, he needs to vent. Anyone can be superman on the WWW, it affords anonymity to the less than worthless and the result is this pathetic excuse for a troll.
The sad thing is though that as much as we rise and despise him, the more he enjoys it. He will sleep easy tonight knowing he has once again entered battle on the betfair forums and win or lose, as long as it was a good fight and it took him away from his miserable existence in the real world it is a success for him.
As hard as it may seem, just ignoring him would be like a death sentence to him, so, out of the goodness of my heart I am going to do my bit for society, give back so to speak, and when the mood takes, I will indulge him in his desires to be a warrior, a keyboard warrior, the mighty and great, Racingstar.

racingstar, would you like to me to apologise on your behalf to Hayley via twitter RE: your statements about her riding ability and her "chuffer"?!
Neither of which you have yet to substantiate.

Average - 'of the usual or ordinary amount, standard, level, or rate.'
I don't think its a slur as such, and I would imagine that most people if they were compiling a list of jockeys with regular rides would put Turner somewhere in the middle. So i'd say average is pretty fair (Though for a woman jockey she is clearly exceptional).
Still baffles me why there has to be so much arguing and name calling on here.
Maggots

The more I read those statements the more out of order they become. Lewd even, regarding the the middle 2 statements? It's one thing commenting about a jockey's ability (even without substance), but making comments like that about a female jockey (or any woman for that matter) on a public forum are out of order imo. racingprick, you are f'cking disgrace. I think her position indicates that she was quite average in 2014 (We know she had some injuries but the strike rate etc help to show her ability in comparison to the other jockeys) She is also (at first glance) the highest woman on the list, so I think its reasonable to say that she is exceptional for a female jockey.
Anyways I'll leave you to your mindless ranting George
I think you need some help. I'm sure there are such lists, perhaps the flat jockey championship 2014 would illustrate the point:http://www.thepja.co.uk/championships/flat-jockeys-championship/I think her position indicates that she was quite average
A jockey's position in that table will be more reflective of the opportunities they have been given rather than a measure of their true ability. Hth.
A better gauge would be an assessment of how well they've done against market expectations, or something like the Whitley Ratings.

I could not agree more. What on Earth is wrong with calling he average? Stick to posting your childish top ten lists, imo. I am sick and tired of pointless arguments with cretins over the years. These are some of the brainless posts made on BF; 1.AP cannot present a horse at a fence. 2,Ruby deliberately rode the horse into the fence talking crashing fall in the process in order to get the fav beaten. 3.Richard Hughes is a poor jockey. 4.Annie Power is not a good horse.
There are countless others but I have decided to let the cretins post whatever crap they want from now on and leave them to it. Good luck to the good eggs. The brainless cretins will end up potless anyway.
