After running of last race ,runners and riders returning to parade ring. Idiotic young  chav male started abusing AP for his ride on the Best horse then, after being ignored by jockeys, threw a bottle or can at AP . A verbal confrontation between AP and the moron ensued.

Security , such as it was, was called and the moron was encouraged to leave; not arrested.

WTF NOT?

What a nation we have become......

You can blame the nation, but its the racecourses that have chosen the dollar over the racegoer.

more than likely the punter in question was out of order......but lets face it the game is rancid.....its only a matter of time some jockey gets dragged off a horse and beat to pulp.......and in some cases it will be much warranted .......

I was about 100 yards away from it.

McCoy was up for the fight, was encouraging the scumbag to jump the rail and fight him. McCoy would have battered him!

The racecourse are an absolute disgrace. Called the police to escort my mate off the public footpath by the side of the course because he was calling the race, yet let off a scumbag who threw a bottle at the champion jockey....

Just shows what a joke Worcester racecourse is imo...

TONY MCCOY was involved in an astonishing, ugly scene after finishing second on last-race favourite Saint Helena at Worcester on Friday evening.

A racegoer leapt on one of the benches alongside the grandstand rail near the winning post and heaped abuse on McCoy as he returned on pulling up after the 2m novice handicap hurdle.

"I had a beer can thrown at me," reported McCoy, who had ridden a four-timer before being beaten on 7-4 favourite Saint Helena, the Jim Best-trained horse who is the subject of a BHA investigation in the wake of winning when well backed at Southwell the time before.

Eyewitnesses reported the irate racegoer trying to climb the r ail, with McCoy gesturing back at him.

Racecourse security finally intervened and the racegoer was marched away as other racegoers applauded McCoy.

The stewards confirmed there was no inquiry as the racegoer had not trespassed on the track, and that the incident would be dealt with by the racecourse.

McCoy's winners were Petrovic for his boss Jonjo O'Neill, El Namoose and My Direction for John Ferguson, and Marju's Quest for David Dennis.

clarky - were you the other side of the course from the lout; waiting to get through the gate and across the course?

Dealt with by the racecourse? Is this code for they're going to do bugger all?

Nice how they let hundreds of racegoers walk across the track when all of the horses were still on the track, about 100 yards away Shocked

I was on the inside of the course, about 50 yards from the moron waiting to get back into the track, as the jobsworth on the gate wouldn't let me back in after I moved my car to the public carpark to get a quick getaway. They let a horse go down to the start at 18:42pm, thus trapping me in the centre of the course...

Often wondered about that footpath on the far side.  It appears to be open to the public so how can the racecourse prevent people from using it during racing ?

Then to my shock and amazement, they opened the rail and the gate the other side and let hundreds of people cross, when the whole field of horses were 100 yards from us.

Apparently it's a health & safety issue to let one person across the crossing when a horse is cantering the start in the opposite direction, about 3/4 mile down the track, but it's OK to let the entire meeting's attendance cross when the whole field of horses are 200 yards away...
