personally, can't wait for the Roman walls to fall in on the "racecourse" and start build on an affordable housing development......

Hardly a racecourse, is it? Unless you own a whippet....

I don't mind it from a betting perspective, just back low drawn front runners as stated by Facts. Its Epsom that is the most overrated track in the country.

Profeesional racing pundits etc. have a very different view from the general public as they don't have to queue for everything. I have never been to Chester but it looks a real scrum.

I've been there once and I have no intention of going again. Looks far better on the tv.

Maybe he wasn't referring only to the racecourse? The proximity of the course to the town. The attractiveness of the town itself. The pubs, the tourists, the street entertainers etc. all add up to a very special experience for the racegoer.

My personal favourite track is Doncaster, not for betting purposes but its just a nice atmosphere and good banter, its just a pity ATR have it and not RUK imo as ATR give it a bad rep nowadays, RUK defiantly needs to have it.

I think you are right, fishcake.

But from a racing or sporting perspective, for most of the runners' hopes to be numbered after 50 yards is not for me

Or, in general, pay for it.

Chester, for me, is now somewhere for a day out once a year. Nice city centre with places to go for a drink and something to eat before/after. But at £30+ for Tatts, lengthy queues to pay £4+ for a pint, and nowhere in the paddock to watch the other racing, it's somewhere I go a lot less frequently now.

I've only been there once which says exactly what I think of the place.

The University would probably take it over - they seem to have snapped everything else - The Plantation club, Several houses and small hotels, even the newly built Travelodge............ where will it end? They'll be pushing over the border into North Wales next (if they haven't already).

Chester is one of those rare courses where your better off paying to go on course instead of any of the stands.

You're welcome ! Well done. Always worth a second look for horses with these criteria in sprint H'caps. Happy

I don't normally back at Chester but did back Tyfos as if a you know a low drawn horse in a sprint can get a lead
the price will drop dramatically IR and you can lay off just in case he gets gubbed.

I enjoy Chester for the socialising, the town. Rarely get involved with the racing, cant take it seriously at all.

Roll on Cheltenham 17th oct Happy
