The winners seem to have dried up although he's still managing to get plenty of place money. He should have a good number of reasonably well handicapped runners when the jumps season kicks off for real in a month or so's time. What he desperately needs is quality - he seems to be struggling to replace the likes of Peddlers Cross, Overturn, Cinders & Ashes, Cloudy Lane and Ballabriggs with new flag carriers.
His runners didn't impress at the recent 2 day meeting at Perth. As other posters have noted, W Renwick seems to struggle to get horses that are pulling for their heads to settle. Even though he's now nominally the stable's number 1 jockey (in the continued absence of J Maguire) AP McCoy seems to get the pick of the rides. McCain must be desperate for Maguire's return to the saddle.
