Of course there was .... !No options available to keep unmatched once confirmed" - because ...
- Your bet would have ALREADY been MATCHED.... in the PRE-Race Market. If you were requesting a bet at say 4.0 'In-Running'- as a 'Keep' - but the PRE-race Offer was 6.0 - at the time you placed your request - Well...... If you were asking to 'Keep' a bet at 6.0 - But 6.0 was available when you made that request/Bet - then .... the 'KEEP' Option is NOT - 'Keep' UNTIL the Market turns 'In-Running' - whatever the odds. The 'KEEP' Option is - 'Keep' the bet ALIVE - and ON INTO the 'In-Running' Market .... IF NOT Matched PRE-Race. |

I don't bother with the 'keep' option anymore, 3 times I asked to keep for in running and all 3 times the price went shorter than the price I was asking for (lay price) and all 3 times I didn't green up, it pissed me of as all 3 lost and I was right to try and trade out, I kicked the door in frustration and had to replace the door twice
![]() I now use the betting assistant to do anything I/R related although its not often, maybe once a day. my advice is get software for I/R if that's your thing, its a lot faster and its one click betting, and none of that click to place bet, click to confirm bet bull****, by the time you've clicked it twice in running the price as gone trust me, you need to have a fast internet connection and software for that game, I do now get the trade outs but its not my cup of tea tbh. |

Cheers for replies - so far
Not sure what you mean Onlooker about the line that ends in Well... I thought i had explained it well enough - maybe not E.G. I tried to back IR at 1.3 on a 3.05 pre race price I.E. I wanted the bet to persist into the "In running" market Every race you will see the graph showing odds down to 1.01 Which wouldn't happen if bets were always matched at higher than requested - correct ? Taken from BF FAQ's - What are the options 'Keep bet' and 'Take SP' when I have an unmatched Exchange bet? Updated 26/12/2013 12.12 PM An Exchange bet is a normal bet placed by choosing the odds of your selection from the market view (as opposed to clicking on the ‘SP’ of your selection). When an Exchange bet is fully or partially unmatched it can be adjusted and cancelled in the normal course. In the past, unmatched bets were automatically cancelled when a market was suspended at the ‘off’ of the relevant event. With the "Keep bet" and "take SP" option you can now choose to either have your unmatched Exchange bet convert to an SP bet when the market suspends at the start of the event, or to have the bet ‘persist’ when the event goes in-play Flummoxed Hatter here & maybe a fick one ![]() But... sure i have done this option before So.. is it my computer / me or Betfair ? |

you cant back at lower than market value
you can have keep back bets at higher than market value you can also have keep lays in there lower than market value the 1.01's are track players picking up pennies in running plus others who are fast |
