I wholeheartedly agree. I would endorse an overall shift back to correct grammar and the appropriate use of the English language.
For example -
Would you like a cup of tea? Absolutely!
NO! Not absolutely, just yes!

"also get rid of how most people say every sentence as if it's a question"
Agree 100% - I am sure this way of speaking emanates from (mainly young) Americans - noticed older ones are not prone to it.
Also, overuse the use of the word "fantastic" - why not excellent, tremendous, superb, brilliant, incredible etc??

Two particularly hideous practices that I would prohibit, were there any feasible means of doing so, are the use of the word 'obviously' when it adds nothing to the meaning of what's being said ... and the use of the absurd phrase 'to be (perfectly)honest(with you)'. Is honesty not to be assumed -why would it need to be declared ? The 'with you' addendum is even more ludicrous.

Slightly off the OP but I went out with a lovely Welsh girl who had a wayward son called Ryan. When he was playing up which was most of the time she used to shout if you don't behave I will call the Heddlu. Heddlu! What! At least a French bird can call Les Gendarmes. Now that resonates, nice word that.

ELG about 25 years ago when my kids were still at school (they've left now) I told them that the next in-word was "monster" - as in "I had a monster time", etc. They started using it because they believed me but stopped when nobody else did. A bit like topics on this forum. But I still think it will catch on one day.

None of these come close to the agony caused by the incorrect use of the word "literally".
I estimate that 99% of the time it is used incorrectly, and if anything the word "figuratively" (which is close to the exact opposite) would be often be correct.
e.g. "I was literally gobsmacked ........" - although that would be tempting.
