It was Berry that went for a gap that was never there.
Report dom888 July 29, 2014 8:24 PM BST
my question will be the placing reversed or will it be disqualified so it would be a 1.01 gubbing

Report carrot1960 July 29, 2014 8:27 PM BST
smullen started the problem but his actions compared to fran berry's were in a different league
Report joe39 July 29, 2014 8:27 PM BST
Gonna be an argument in the stewards I suspect about the difference between "careless" and "dangerous" riding.
Report morpteh mackem July 29, 2014 8:28 PM BST
be surprised if that got chucked out
Report dom888 July 29, 2014 8:28 PM BST
i backed the favorite to be placed, so what happens if it lose the win, will it also lose the place or will it be reversed behind the 2 other horses?
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan July 29, 2014 8:29 PM BST
Mugs if you think this will be reversed.

Disqualify the fav, smullen needs banning for that dangerous riding
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan July 29, 2014 8:29 PM BST
Dom, it depends on how the judges see it, how dangerous it was etc.
Report scorpi July 29, 2014 8:32 PM BST
antique has changed his road race and move closer to barriers, wich slowed down and blocked a henson.

Report lustrumm July 29, 2014 8:35 PM BST
This could go. They are known for funny reversals in Galway. Law unto their own. The only thing is the winner is a Weld horse. However they are funny re dangerous riding at Galway.
Report dom888 July 29, 2014 8:37 PM BST
betfair has posted result before we really know the official result
Report conkian July 29, 2014 8:37 PM BST
should be chucked out if not the irish are laughing stocks
Report lustrumm July 29, 2014 8:37 PM BST
Also what shameful coverage of it from ATR. The biggest gambling meeting of the year and they cant even go to the live reporter at the track
Report saddler winner July 29, 2014 8:38 PM BST
I think if the winner wins by a shorter margin, it would be reversed. And in England no question it keeps the race, in Ireland tho I think it generally depends on what the stewards had backed. Agree with lustrumm Ive seen funny reversals in Ireland and galway in particuar.
Report Breedingmad July 29, 2014 8:39 PM BST
Ducky Malone into 100-1

If the winner was trained by small stable, would result stand ?
Report Alona July 29, 2014 8:43 PM BST
Absolute disgrace. Smullen should have been made an example of for such dangerous riding.

Unreal, totally unreal.
Report slip5 July 29, 2014 8:44 PM BST
smullen cut up 2 horses there, any man could see that
Report Piet July 29, 2014 8:45 PM BST
It's not just Irish Racing, the English stewards throw nothing out either.  The situation is now a joke, seems far less get thrown out since bookmakers pay double result.......
Report carrot1960 July 29, 2014 8:46 PM BST
berry was guilty of dangerous /  reckless riding , smullen careless riding which the bans dished out will no doubt reflect
Report Breedingmad July 29, 2014 9:02 PM BST
His mount drifted right and he didn't change his whip side just hit it so it moved further across
dangerous to the extremeAngry
Report carrot1960 July 29, 2014 9:18 PM BST
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Chief Suspect, ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth, Ducky Mallon, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed third, Henson (GB), ridden by F.M. Berry, placed second and Antique Platinum, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed first, where it appeared that Henson (GB) had received interference from Antique Platinum when delivering his challenge in the closing stages. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
Report joe39 July 29, 2014 9:21 PM BST
That's me done with Irish racing (and I'm not talking through my pocket on this race), I'll go to the funfair and see if they're pricing up the dodgem cars there.
Report carrot1960 July 29, 2014 9:29 PM BST
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, I. Hamilton, that Adrian O'Shea, rider of Dudes And Diamonds (GB), had weighed in 1.9lbs above the required weight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he drank water after weighing out as he was dehydrated. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that A. O'Shea was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 1 raceday.

19th july curragh
The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that J.P. O'Brien, rider of Tapestry, weighed in at 1.6 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had taken a drink of water at the start and also that his mount sweated up due to the delayed start which may have accounted for the overweight on his return. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and took no further action.

it's not who you know its who your related too that counts
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan July 30, 2014 7:53 AM BST
If ever there was a case of a pocket talking thread then this is it, it was the second horse who caused all the problems going for a gap that wasn't there.

POCKET TALKERS.
Report carrot1960 July 30, 2014 11:27 AM BST
smullen caused the initial  problem hampering the 3 horses on his inside ,fran berry then added to the problen by going for a that was not there nearly uptting henson over the rails in doing so , and the stewards caused the biggest problem by letting both jockeys get away scot free, and i did not have a bet so no pocket talk here
